Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus, part of the growing repentance remnant:

The reverential, healthy fear of Almighty God is the key to put Him first in our lives and to get close to Him.

The founders of our nation, including Adams, Henry, Hancock, and Washington, repeatedly "bore fruit worthy of repentance," giving evidence that they had entered Jesus' Kingdom, each of them born again in Christ. Honoring the conviction of the Holy Spirit, they removed old sin patterns, and were thus more filled with the Holy Spirit as His vessel.

At some point they must have realized that He had a unique call on each of their lives, as was the case with the first disciples: "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. These things I command you, that you love one another. "  ~John 15: 16,17.

Having received that call from Him, they were bold for Christ publicly. They "hallowed" Him; they publicly extolled His Name.

As a key member of the Continental Congress in Philadelphia, Mr. Adams said on June 21, 1776: " Statesmen, my dear Sir, may plan and speculate for liberty, but is it Religion and Morality alone, which can establish the principles on which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free Constitution is pure virtue, and if this cannot be inspired into our people in a greater measure, than they have it now, they may change their rulers and the forms of government, but they will not obtain a lasting liberty."

At the key vote, colony by colony, on July 2, 1776 on the issue of independence from Great Britain there was a profound moment. There was a healthy fear of God. Without dissent the vote was taken to dissolve all ties with Great Britain.

The bondage to man's rule by a tyrant was now about to be replaced by God's Almighty Liberty bought on the cross by Jesus Christ for all men everywhere.

John Adams, perhaps the most devout Christian ever to later become President of the United States of America, captured the healthy fear of God is a letter to his beloved wife, Abigail: " The second day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epoche in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated as the Day of Deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shews, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this time forward forever more."

Would you join me in this prayer? " Abba Father, in Jesus' Holy Name, would you help us bring back this healthy fear of You in us and in our leaders in all walks of life ? Would you bring boldness back in our pulpits? Would you help each of us to repent of any fear to speak about you boldly in Your love? Please help lead us back to You as the author and finisher of our faith and the Creator of this blessed nation, planted by Your Covenant, Your Miracles, and beloved patriots having a healthy fear of You. In Jesus' Holy Name, Amen and amen. "
