~ Featured Health Tip~
We've said it before... the Mediterranean diet is amazing!! Read this blog from our partner, Dr. Patel, to hear about what this diet entails, why it's important, how to transition into eating and living this way, and what foods to eat or avoid.

"The traditional eating habits of those who live in Mediterranean countries have stood out in multiple studies as beneficial for mental health, cognitive function and overall health. Other popular diets for cognition you may have heard of such as the MIND diet, are also based on many of the principles of the Mediterranean diet.

So what exactly is the Mediterranean diet? It’s a style of eating that emphasizes fresh fruits and vegetables, beans, legumes, whole unrefined grains, and healthy fats from nuts, wild fish, and olive oil. This type of diet has shown to be very helpful in controlling inflammation and balancing blood sugar. Numerous studies have found that a Mediterranean diet is linked to a reduced risk of both mental and physical health issues."

How is AZ Integrative Medicine and Spa Different?
Integrative Medicine is a patient-centered model of medicine where we address the whole person, not just a disease or symptoms. We use both evidence-based Conventional Medicine and Functional Medicine diagnostics to find the root cause of disease by looking at the interactions between genetics, environmental, and lifestyle factors. We offer our patients cutting edge labs in colon health, hormones, cardiac risk, detoxification, allergy and nutrient testing to identify areas of improvement and optimize wellness.
