Implementation Toolbox: Partner Map Template
|
|
As you begin the process of planning for back-to-school and the possibility of implementing an adolescent health program in your local setting, it is a good idea to identify community partners that can support the delivery of your program.
Use the Youth Advocate and Community Partner mapping template to help identify folks to connect with. This resource can help you identify community partners and key decision-makers that can help support the delivery of your program.
Tip: Like-minded people can help along the way! Build a network of support!

Text Message Campaign for Native Teens
Text CARING to 65664
|
|
Transitioning from summer vacation to back-to-school can be stressful for youth. The THRIVE project has developed a text message campaign for Native youth -- Caring Messages -- to build their pride and resilience.
Sometimes all it takes is a thoughtful text to brighten one’s day and shift perspective. Native youth can receive two texts per week with culturally-relevant messages designed to improve their mood and remind them how awesome they are by simply texting the word ‘CARING’’ to 65664.

Thank you to all the Tribes, chaperones, facilitators, presenters, and staff who took the time to attend and invest in these talented youth!

Coming Soon: Media for Community Outreach
New Native HIV/PrEP Media Campaigns
|
|
HIV has deeply impacted American Indians and Alaskan Natives. One way to halt the spread of HIV is PrEP – a medicine that is over 99% effective at preventing HIV and reduces the risk of getting HIV from injection drug use by 74%. Anyone who weighs at least 77 pounds, including teens and pregnant persons, can use PrEP – even if you are breast or chestfeeding! To raise awareness about HIV and PrEP, the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board and it's partners are creating a national media campaign.
The campaign is designed to:
- Help AI/AN people of all ages learn about HIV and PrEP
- Support health educators and clinicians educate AI/AN patients about HIV and PrEP
This campaign will offer:
- Colorful handouts, posters, and other print materials
- Eye-catching posts to share on social media
- Short educational videos
To access materials: When they are ready, the materials will be available on Indian Country ECHO, the NPAIHB website, www.stopsyphilis.org, and on other NPAIHB social media platforms.
