National Native American Heritage Month

Native Pride and Cultural Empowerment

November is National Native American Heritage Month. For Native people, every day is a good day to be Indigenous and be celebrated! Culture is foundational and a powerful source for learning.

This issue will lift up our stories, our voices and culturally relevant tools to motivate and inspire Native youth towards health and wellness.

Healthy Native Youth - Website Spotlights

Native It’s Your Game 2.0

A web-based pregnancy prevention curriculum for Native youth (ages 12-14)

Native It’s Your Game 2.0 is a 13-lesson on-line sexual health curriculum for Native youth ages 12-14. ‘Your Game’ is a metaphor for your life and your personal rules are the way you succeed in your game of life.

Youth are trained in decision making using a SELECT-DETECT-PROTECT framework. Youth are asked to select the goals they wish to live by, and to protect their goals in life. The lessons navigate youth through important topics, including healthy friendships, puberty and reproduction, and communication and refusal skills in the context of healthy dating relationships.
