Coming Up on October 13th:
Cultural Competency to Raise Healthy Native Youth
Culture is engrained in everything that we do, from how we engage, learn, and process information. In order to best serve our Native youth, we must share our experience and the science behind culture as prevention so that our Relatives and allies can best support the health of our Native youth. Join the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium and other guest presenters to share their experiences imparting cultural competency.
Since the beginning of time, Native people have used science, engineering, and math to survive. The ancestors were the original innovators. Today, we need our Native youth to know they can continue in this legacy in school and as career pathways at home. Have your native youth text STEM to 97779 to get tips that elevate and reaffirm Native voices in science, math, engineering and mathematics.
American Indians and Alaska Natives are underrepresented in many health and wellness fields. Native communities need the Native youth voice, energy, and interest in healing that can help our communities grow, thrive and flourish.
If your youth has an interest in this area, encourage them to text HEALER to 97779.
