HNY Online Training: Mind 4 Health

Free 90-minute Gatekeeper Training for Caring Adults

Mind4Health is an online or text message training for caring adults that will prepare them to support and refer youth when they see or post concerning messages online. The 90-minute gatekeeper training is perfect for teachers, parents, counselors, coaches, and other caring adults. The training was designed by the THRIVE Suicide Prevention Project at the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board (NPAIHB), to help community gatekeepers identify youth in need of support and connect them to appropriate services.

Tip: Offer Mind4Health as a professional development training opportunity during a school in-service, all-staff meeting, or general community gathering over food.

Mental Health Resources for Communities

Raise Awareness for Suicide Prevention Month

The THRIVE Project at the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board (NPAIHB) has created culturally-relevant mental health resources to raise awareness about suicide prevention, including knowing the warning signs and what to do in a crisis.

The Healthy Native Youth team leverages THRIVE under the adolescent health project umbrella. Find mental health resources for your youth, classrooms, parents/relatives, clinics, and communities.

Sexual Health Awareness Month

Sex Education Resources for Native Youth, Parents, and Communities

Culturally-Relevant, Age Appropriate, Medically Accurate Info

The NPAIHB also leads the Project Red Talon Regional Partner Network that works to coordinate outreach, education, and technical assistance efforts across IHS regions to disseminate best practices for improved HIV/STI/HCV prevention and care for AI/AN people. PRT's regional partners work with Tribes in their regions to eliminate HIV/STI/HCV for holistic, inclusive health for Native people.

Tip: Share sexual health resources with the appropriate audience in your school, community, and families.
