UNFILTERED: A TEEN SUMMIT FOCUSED ON MENTAL WELLNESS AND CONNECTION

The 7th Annual Teen Summit was a resounding success, bringing together teens for a day focused on mental health, personal growth, and connection. Keynote speaker Tony Becerra, an original Freedom Writer, inspired attendees with his story of resilience, while a positive self-talk workshop led by Dr. Belknap encouraged self-reflection.

Hands-on sessions—including puppy yoga, equine therapy, CPR/Narcan training, and boxingprovided meaningful opportunities for growth and helped foster new friendships.

The resource fair, made possible through collaboration with community partners and City departments, offered invaluable tools and support for mental well-being.

The event left a lasting impact, equipping teens with the knowledge and resources to navigate their mental health with confidence.

MENTAL FLEX

Move Your Body, Boost Your Mind

Resilience refers to how well you can deal with and bounce back from life's difficulties. It can mean the difference between handling pressure and losing your cool. Resilient people tend to maintain a more positive outlook and cope with stress more effectively. Remember, resilience is a lifelong journey—building it, shaping it, and accessing it take practice, bravery, and time.

Compassionate Corner

Kindness and mental health go hand in hand, making a meaningful impact on both individuals and communities. The smallest acts—extending a helping hand, offering a listening ear, or sharing a warm smile—can provide comfort, reduce stress, and foster a sense of connection. By prioritizing empathy in our daily interactions, we not only uplift others but also contribute to a supportive environment where mental well-being thrives. Each act of kindness sparks a ripple effect, inspiring others to do the same and strengthen the collective well-being of our communities.
