Consider how you are spending your days off and remember that they are meant for recovery and relaxation. For instance, a stressful, chaotic weekend can throw your upcoming work week off. So how can you ensure you’re not sabotaging yourself during this time?

Try incorporating these helpful tips and tricks to manage your stress and lead a balanced, fun, stress-free days off!

While our facilities may provide limited services and programs to keep our #RCcommUNITY safe, you can still visit our Virtual Recreation Center for fun, creative, and educational content!

If you’re unable to make it out to one of our local parks, the City of Rancho Cucamonga's Community Services Department offers plenty of virtual options for you to stay active at home. Visit our Virtual Recreation Center or go to for more information.

2020 has been a challenging year for Californians everywhere, but together, we pushed through and remained strong.

Date Bites with Nuts
(makes 3 dozens)

Ingredients for Salad

  • 3 cups raw nuts
  • 2 13-oz packs baking dates
  • 4 Tbsp honey
  • 2 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sesame seeds


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Place nuts and sesame seeds in separate trays and bake 10 to 12 minutes to achieve a light golden brown. Remove from oven and set aside to cool.
  2. Place cooled nuts in food processor to chop to desired consistency and transfer in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients except the sesame seeds and mix by hand to make a paste.
  4. Using a #40 scoop or a spoon, divide the mix into 36 bites and coat with toasted sesame seed. 
  5. Place all bites on a tray and place in the freezer for 2 hours before serving or cover and keep frozen for later use.

Kick off the new year in a positive way by joining Healthy RC’s Compassionate Community in celebrating the National Day of Racial Healing on Tuesday, January 19th.

Join the Compassionate Community Subcommittee at 11:00 AM as it continues to lead the City’s efforts to address racial healing, equity, and social justice in Rancho Cucamonga. Following this meeting, at 12:00 NOON, let’s tune in together as a community for the live premiere event of the 2021 National Day of Racial Healing Celebration.

Healthy RC is thrilled to announce that the City of Rancho Cucamonga has earned a Silver Certification in the 2020 LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for Cities and Communities Program, becoming one of the first cities in California to earn this prestigious designation! The City is honored and very excited to officially become a part of this global network of cities and communities implementing responsible and sustainable strategies to improve quality of life.
