June 2025 Steering Committee Newsletter

Thank you to everyone who attended our May 2025 Healthy RC Steering Committee meeting featuring a Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR) presentation by Inland Southern California United Way. This training taught individuals how to recognize the warning signs of suicide and respond effectively using the three steps: Question, Persuade, and Refer. This presentation empowered our steering committee to act as gatekeepers and connect those in crisis with professional help. We appreciate the continued support, time, and energy as we work together on impactful projects, programs, and initiatives that make Rancho Cucamonga the healthiest that it can be!

Join us for our next meeting via Zoom on Tuesday, June 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Pedaling Through Summer: Community Shines at Summer Nights, Summer Lights Bike Ride

On the evening of June 7, more than 150 residents from the City of Rancho Cucamonga came together for an unforgettable ride beneath the setting sun at the Summer Nights, Summer Lights Community Bike Ride. Hosted along the scenic Pacific Electric Trailhead, this vibrant event welcomed families, friends, and cycling enthusiasts of all ages for a night of fun, fitness, and connection.

Participants chose between two ride options: a 4-mile family-friendly loop perfect for younger riders and beginners, or an 8-mile extended ride for those ready to go the distance. Whether rolling side-by-side with their kids or pushing their pace on the longer route, everyone enjoyed the safe, social, and beautifully lit evening ride.

Summer Nights, Summer Lights served as a powerful reminder: when the community comes together, even for a simple bike ride, something truly special happens.

Compassionate Corner

Kindness and mental health go hand in hand, making a meaningful impact on both individuals and communities. The smallest acts—extending a helping hand, offering a listening ear, or sharing a warm smile—can provide comfort, reduce stress, and foster a sense of connection. By prioritizing empathy in our daily interactions, we not only uplift others but also contribute to a supportive environment where mental well-being thrives. Each act of kindness sparks a ripple effect, inspiring others to do the same and strengthen the collective well-being of our communities.
