MEETING SLIDES
UPCOMING EVENTS AND HIGHLIGHTS

Veterans Rally Point Wednesday

Calling all Veterans! Your Mind Matters! You are invited to attend our next Veterans Rally Point Wednesday on Wednesday, October 25 at the Veterans Resource Center at Chaffey College (5885 Haven Ave., Administration Building Room #125). Douglas Calderon, veteran and Director of Motivational Systems, will be presenting and sharing strategies on Healthy Coping Skills. Meet other veterans, build community, and learn ways to support your wellbeing for success. No registration required.

Mini Mural Project - Call for Artists

Calling All Artists! The RC Public Art Program has an open Call for Artists for its Mini Mural Project, inviting talented artists to design and install mini murals on select cement directional markers along the Pacific Electric Trail. These murals will be visible to vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic, enhancing the trail's aesthetics while promoting a greater sense of community and connection along this popular trail. We welcome professional artists or artist teams, at least 18 years or older to apply.

To be eligible for the project, your application must include an Artist Interest Statement, a professional resume with references, and images of past work. Selected artists will be awarded a $1,000 stipend per directional marker; this is inclusive of all artist design fees, supplies, fabrication, and time spent. Don't miss this chance to showcase your talents and enhance our community through art.

Submit your application by October 22. For more information, visit www.CityofRC.us/PublicArt.

Paws 4 Success Visit Recap and Upcoming Workshops

The Mental Health Subcommittee had a wonderful site visit at Paws 4 Success last month. Paws 4 Success is a non-profit organization that focuses on supporting first responders, children, veterans and military personnel with non-traditional support. They empower individuals with life skills and help them overcome challenges through animal therapy, dog training, and equine assisted learning. Powerful testimonies were shared about the healing powers of animals for law enforcement and military personnel. Thank you Paws 4 Success for creating safe spaces for everyone to support their healing!

Paws 4 Success is hosting Horses 4 Heroes workshops for various community group populations to learn more about how to support mental health through the healing power of horses.

Discover a unique way to grow, heal, and learn with the Equine Assisted Learning workshops at their site located at 3141 English Road, Chino Hills, CA.

Pre-registration is required one week before the workshop date, and the fee is $25.
