Healthy Schools BC Regional Grants and First Nation School Grants Are Now Available
Healthy Schools BC Regional Grants are available to school districts and groups of schools (2 or more). These grants are intended to support education and health-sector partners to work together on initiatives that support healthy schools, with the intention of strengthening their partnership. The deadline to apply is October 15th. Find out more .

Healthy Schools BC First Nation School Grants are available to First Nations schools from Kindergarten to Grade 12. These grants are intended to support First Nations schools in implementing Indigenous ways of wellness across a whole-school environment. The deadline to apply is October 31st 2019. Find out more. 

Fresh to You Fundraiser
Schools looking for a healthy fundraiser and who participate in the BC School Fruit and Vegetable Nutritional Program can sign up now for the Fresh to You Fundraiser. The BC Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation offers the Fresh to You Fundraiser as a way for schools and communities to promote healthy food choices while gaining greater access to BC-grown fruits and vegetables. Participating schools sell healthy bundles of locally grown produce to family and friends. While CSH has been proven to support healthy school communities, it is unknown how health behaviours promoted in school are adapted at home. Celebrating Champions for Inclusion in BC
Six B.C. educators have been named as recipients of the 2019 National Inclusive Education Awards. The awards honour teachers, support staff and educational leaders who ensure that all students, especially those with special needs, are given full access to education and are included in all aspects of school life. These annual awards are hosted by Inclusion BC, the Family Support Institute of BC and Inclusive Education Canada.  Find out more.

Terry Fox Run & Resources
Terry Fox showed that we can all make a difference in the world and change people’s lives for the better. The Terry Fox School Run provides an opportunity for Canadian students to come together to raise money for cancer research while fostering school spirit, encouraging physical activity and having fun. Build Your Own Physical Literacy Lesson Plans
The interactive Lesson Plan Builder from Active for Life gives teachers the ability to design and print their own lesson plans. Educators can review and select different games and activities for developing specific movement skills, order them in the sequence they want, and then save their selection as a customized and downloadable PDF lesson plan.  Find out more.

BC Dairy Mini Food Grants
Enhance your class’s nutrition education and inspire students to be healthier eaters with BC Dairy Association’s (BCDA) mini food grants. All BC teachers who are teaching one of BCDA’s  nutrition education programs this school year are eligible to apply for a mini food grant up to $150. The  application  deadline is Monday, September 30, 2019. Find out more .
 
BC Recreation & Parks Association Before and After School Recreation Program Grants
BC Recreation & Parks Association is offering subsidy grants of up to $1,500 per program to help offset costs of before and after school recreation programming for the 2019/20 school year. The grants support programs that focus on physical activity, connecting to nature, outdoor play, and engaging in culture, sports and the arts. In addition to program funding, this initiative also provides training for program leaders, supervisors and managers. Application deadline is October 8 th Find out more.
