To reach an autonomous future, we need to ensure that autonomy is safe and positioning is accurate, reliable and assured to get there.
The Autonomy & Positioning Reality Summit will explore high-precision positioning technologies, methods of ensuring reliability and accuracy worldwide and how to protect this positioning from interference, jamming and spoofing threats.
We'll explain how GNSS positioning delivers the foundation to enable autonomous applications. Sessions feature case studies and examples of autonomy, from urban taxis and rural transit vehicles to off-road autonomous tractors and automated road-train hauling.
With this in mind, we curated an excellent range of keynote speakers that we're excited to share with you below!
Announcing our keynote speakers
Dr. Robert Thirsk, astronaut and engineer, discusses the role of positioning technologies and autonomy aboard the International Space Station, including robotic operations and future autonomous space exploration. Introduced by Michael Ritter, president of Hexagon's Autonomy & Positioning division.
Prof. Venkat Krovi, Michelin endowed chair professor of vehicle automation at Clemson University, presents on Clemson's Open Connected and Automated Vehicle research platform using augmented reality simulation, sensor suites and more to drive research & development forward in autonomous vehicles.
Omar Ahmad, deputy director of the National Advanced Driving Simulator at the University of Iowa, shares how a comprehensive safety portfolio with collision avoidance, vehicle intervention and more are necessary additions in autonomous off-road applications. He'll present a case study of a rural transit platform achieving off-road autonomy.
Dr. Todd Walter from Stanford University details how aviation safety-of-life analyses can be applied to autonomous vehicle navigation and precise point positioning (PPP) solutions. Doing this both enables assured positioning and enhances analysis of integrity errors in autonomous platforms.
