New Every Morning

Because of the loving devotion of the LORD we are not overtaken, for His mercies never fail. 23They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!     Lamentations 3:22,23

Each new day we face, regardless of age or health, is an opportunity to be blessed and be a blessing. Of course God blesses us, but sometimes we miss the blessings because we have not considered God in prayer or meditation.

That is why first thoughts in the morning are so important. Once I get past the shock that I must get out of bed, I make a good start of the day when I thank God for another day, and ask that he guides my thoughts and my beings and doings.

Morning is a great time to take as much time as you can spare to talk with God. Open your time with a prayer or devotion. Then talk to him. He longs to hear what is on your heart; what challenges you face, what blessings for which you are grateful, who needs Gods extra blessings?

Ask God to lead you through the day, and to pull you back when your mind starts to wander to things not Godly. And after you have laid all these things before God, stop and be still.. Take some moments to open your mind to God’s presence.

You can find a difference in your days when you begin them with God. If ou are rushed in the morning, get up enough  minutes earlier so you have time for God. It won’t take the bumps and bruises of life away, but it will make everything much easier to deal with. And you will be surprised at the many blessings you never saw before.
