A Note From Pastor Linda
"How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses to help? Little Children, let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action!"
~1 John 3:17-18
Thank you- from the 766 children who will be fed one meal a day for an entire year- THANK YOU!
The hearts and hands of 1,130 volunteers packed 1,296 boxes of MannaPack- totaling 279,936 meals. Many more hearts donated funds to pay for the food that we packed... and soon this food will be traveling to kids in need. All I can say is THANK YOU!! Here is a story of HOPE from FMSC:
Hope and Practical Help for Inessa (from the FMSC Blog)
When bombs started falling in their village in Ukraine, Inessa's family hid with 26 others from their church in an underground bunker for three long, frightening days.
Before they knew it, they ran out of food and water. Their pastor risked his life to climb out of the safety of the bunker and find his car so they could escape the bombing. He then spent many dangerous hours transporting everyone to another village several hours away.
There they found an abandoned school and turned it into an impromptu center for internally displaced persons. Displaced and on the run from the fighting, Inessa's family couldn't return home. Their lives were shattered. Inessa became scared of everything. She started having nightmares.
Because YOU care, our food partner Mission Eurasia was able to give the family MannaPack™ Rice so they could survive. Soon, Inessa's parents were able to move to a different village and find work. They don't make much money, but thanks to the MannaPack meals you're sending, they don't have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. Instead they can focus on sending Inessa and her sister to school.
The family is finding hope again, even in the midst of the challenges they are facing. They know they can rely on you. Inessa is healing, too. She isn't afraid of loud noises anymore. She stopped having as many nightmares. She started smiling again. And she's making many new friends at school. Thank you for unleashing the power of food in Inessa's life. You put the hope and sparkle back into her eyes. "One day, peace will come back to Ukraine and kids won't have to hide in dark cellars anymore," she said.
We say amen to that. Thank you for providing this hope.
Hope starts with food. Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is dedicated to providing nutritious meals to children and families in need. Each meal costs less than 25 cents- and more than 90% of every dollar donated goes directly toward feeding kids. FMSC consistently receives the highest awards for accountability and transparency from Charity Navigator. FMSC has become a valued ministry partner as Hosanna strives to live out our mission statement to LIVE and LOVE and SERVE so that all will know Jesus.

High School Graduation Recognition Sunday
Sunday, May 20, 2018
at the 10:30am Worship Service
Please fill out a Graduate Recognition form
. Form needed by May 13th.
When our children were young we brought them to the font to begin a new adventure. Now as they are leaving on yet another journey, we bring them back to the font to be blessed and sent forth.
As we bless each graduate they will receive a special blanket created by our quilters, tied by peers in confirmation and faith formation to remind them that wherever they lay their head, God and the prayers of their home church go with them. Then all family and friends of graduates will be invited to lay hands upon these young adults. To conclude and commemorate this event a class picture will be taken after service.
