Eagle Reception Fast Approaching 
Eagle Scout Reception - Sunday, Feb. 22 - Municipal Music Hall

The 2014 Eagle Scout Class Reception is less than 2 weeks away! Will you be there? Join more than 1,500 area Eagle Scouts and Scout families on Sunday, February 22 at Municipal Music Hall and help continue a Kansas City Scouting tradition. 

All 2014 Eagle Scouts in attendance will receive this commemorative "Challenge Coin" and will be included in the official Eagle Scout class photo. The reception officially begins at 1:00 pm. 

There is no cost to attend, but all attendees must pre-register. Space is filling up fast so reserve your spot today!

A fun and exciting NEW Cub Scout program launches June 1, 2015. Are you ready? From improved activities to easier-to-understand advancement, Cub Scouting is about to get even better than before. But what exactly is changing?

Scott Boswell - Commerce Trust Company 

The Heart of America Council is proud to announce the selection of Scott Boswell as the 2015 Council President. Scott is President and CEO of The Commerce Trust Company's West Region. 

An Eagle Scout, Scott is an Honorary Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and a Vigil Honor Member of the Order of the Arrow. He most recently served the council as Vice President of Administration and Chairman of the inaugural Scouting 500.

Webelos STEM Weekend

April 25-26 - Bartle Scout Reservation 

Webelos STEM Weekend is back at Bartle April 25-26. Participants will enjoy a specialized STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) themed program along with traditional camp favorites like BB guns, archery, and slingshots.

Additional programming includes an introduction to the Boy Scout program at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation and a Saturday night campfire with a special presentation by the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.

Saturday, May 16 - Kansas Speedway 

Challenge Are you up to the challenge? Find out on May 16 at the 3rd annual SCOUTStrong Challenge Half Marathon and 5K. This year's event is open to Scouts and runners of all ages and will begin and end on the track of the Kansas Speedway.

2015 Investment in Character Campaign 

The 2015 Investment in Character campaign is officially underway. Investment in Character is the council's annual fundraising campaign that ensures Scouting is a viable option for all youth in our communities.

The Heart of America Council will invest $169 per youth member this year. Please consider giving at the Family Level of $169 and support one Scout's program for the year. New in 2015, be a friend of Scouting and receive the limited edition "FRIENDLY" council shoulder patch.
