Recruitment Season Underway
School Nights Welcome Thousands of New Scouts

The calendar says September and that means recruitment season is here. More than half of our School Nights are complete and more than 2,300 new Cub Scouts have joined the fun.
But recruitment doesn't stop when School Night ends. Packs should continue to hold recruitment events throughout the year to welcome new families.

Silver Beaver Award Recipients 2014 Honorees to be recognized at Council Annual Banquet
 The Silver Beaver Award is the highest award a local council may present to a volunteer. The Heart of America Council is proud to recognize the 2014 Silver Beaver Award recipients for their service to Scouting. All honorees will be recognized at the Council Annual Banquet on Saturday, November 15.

SCOUTStrong Challenge
September 13 - Sporting Park & Kansas Speedway
Are you up to the challenge? Find out at the 2nd annual SCOUTStrong Challenge Half Marathon and 5K on September 13. There's still time to register for next week's event, but act fast!
Both the Half Marathon and 5K courses are open to any runner and start at Sporting Park and finish on the track of the Kansas Speedway.
All runners will receive a unique custom medal and technical shirt as well as access to our post-race party with food, beverages and music.

October 4 - Kansas Speedway

 University of Scouting November 1 - Park University
Join us at University of Scouting this November and get the tools to LEAD and SUCCEED in Scouting. Courses include everything from introductory to doctorate level degrees.

Last Chance to Fill the Fridge
 Volunteer Hours Still Available
All week long, Scouts have been helping 41-Action News, Harvesters and Price Chopper Fill the Fridge. The annual campaign helps feed hungry children in Kansas City.
We still have a few volunteer spots available tomorrow at the Price Chopper on 103rd St. & State Line in Kansas City, MO. All participants will receive the limited edition Fill the Fridge patch. Click here to register online.
