Thank you for your beautiful giving hearts!
Greetings!
As the seasons change, there's one thing that is consistent, the amazing generous people in our community. The last few months we have fed thousands of children and provided students with backpacks filled with school supplies. This is all possible because of the giving hearts of so many wonderful people.
What was probably one of the most beautiful and caring things I've seen this summer, was the amount of young people who came out to help pack food bags for our Summer Food Program. These children were on summer break and instead of heading to the beach or on vacation, they came each week, packed and delivered bags of food so children less fortunate would have something to eat. These children are spreading the message of hope and starting a foundation of giving to share with the world as they grow older. What a precious gift!
Our Summer Food Drop Program was a huge success! We delivered more than 500 food bags to children and families in Seminole County. Each bag fed a family of four to six, so we were able to feed more than two thousand people this summer. Volunteers packed and delivered food bags weekly to four different locations across Seminole County. These locations were strategically chosen to reach the highest population of children and families in need.
Our food drop is a unique, one of a kind, program in Seminole County. It is possible because of our amazing sponsors. Thank you to the Amsler Family Foundation, Duke Energy and the Heathrow Women's Club.
We also appreciate the support from the Seminole County Families in Need program which is an integral part of this project and a great supporter of Hearts, Hands and Hope.
Now that school is back in session, we will continue to support the local schools by helping to stock their food pantry, providing uniforms, books, toiletries and school supplies.
Please save the date,
Monday November 26th.
We'll be hosting our Annual Sip and Shop for Hearts, Hands and Hope. This year's event will be held at Rossellini's in Lake Mary from 6pm-9pm. There will be fabulous local vendors selling unique gifts, as well as a silent auction and raffle. The money raised will help feed local children over the holidays, when they aren't receiving food support at school. We hope to see you there!
On behalf of all the children and families you are helping, the most sincere and heartfelt thank you.
With much appreciation,
Michelle
