2024 Unity Ride

Hearts of Gold had the honor of supporting Chief Kasmar and several other Department Members as they participated in the 2024 Unity Ride. This is an annual event that raises awareness of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty and raises funds for several national law enforcement charitable organizations. It culminates in Washington DC for National Police Week. The TPD members participating joined over 1,000 other law enforcement officers for the 250-mile ride.

Along the route they met many families of fallen officers. Hearts of Gold supported the ride financially and provided Beanie Bears for the team to hand out to the families along the way. We are so proud of these awesome Department Members who represented TPD in this event honoring fallen officers across the country.

Department Wellness Grants

In January of 2024, the Tucson Police Department co-hosted a training aimed at the prevention of police officer suicides. While the training cost was covered by the U.S. Department of Justice, lunches, snacks, and water were not included. Officer Rob Soeder and the team at BSU applied for and received a wellness grant to cover water, coffee, snacks and one lunch for attendees.

Congratulations to Officer Soeder and the BSU Team for enhancing this training for all!

Wellness Grant Applications are accepted year-round!
