AGC/VT Weekly Contractor Update

June 15, 2026

Heat Doesn't Care

The first stretch of hot weather catches a lot of people off guard. The temperature doesn't care if you're a new hire, or a 30-year veteran.

Make sure your crew is prepared. In this week's Toolbox Talk, Richard and Ben talk heat stress, heat exhaustion, hydration, and the warning signs to be aware of.

3 Things VT Contractors Need to

Know This Week

  1. Heat-related illnesses are most common during the first few hot weeks of year, before workers have had a chance to acclimate. Review key heat illness warning signs HERE; Access the NOISH Heat Stress Prevention Program HERE; and download the Heat Safety Jobsite poster HERE.

  2. Can't make it to a classroom? AGC of America offers live online training from blueprint reading and BIM to project management, estimating, and AI in construction. Explore upcoming courses HERE.

  3. National Construction Safety Month Continues throughout June. This week focuses on supporting total worker wellbeing through mental, physical and emotional health. Access resources and industry-specific wellness tools for individuals and employers HERE.
