Amplify Science blends hands-on investigations, literacy-rich activities, and interactive digital tools to empower students to think, read, write, and argue like real scientists and engineers.

Amplify Science is grounded in research and proven effective. The authors behind Amplify Science developed the Do, Talk, Read, Write, Visualize approach, and gold-standard research shows that it works.
Community and Culture
We will use a variety of Research-Based Strategies at HAA to educate the “whole child” and influence a positive culture within our school.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
teaches skills
to change
distorted negative thinking.
Learning to use assertive communication skills instead of relying on aggressive or passive-aggressive communications helps students better communicate their needs in personal and educational settings.
“CBT can help students control their own behavior, rather than attempting to control student behavior with external reinforcement alone (e.g., tokens for staying on task, praise for raising hand). CBT teaches students to use self-talk to affect or to modify their underlying thinking, which in turn affects the way they behave.
Simply put, self-talk (also known as covert self-instruction) consists of talking to oneself to solve a problem or guide behavior. Cognitive strategies can help students learn “how-to-think”, instead of “what-to-think.” CBT is based on students’ self-control rather than external rewards and punishments. While we all know the benefits of using rewards (good) and punishments in the classroom, CBT theory suggests that it is even more important to teach students how to use their thinking to improve their own behavior.”

Newton’s Third Law

is often stated like this:

“For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.”

This means that if one body applies a force to a second body, then the second body applies an equal force in the opposite direction to the first body.

An obvious example in aviation is jet propulsion—a driving or propelling force in which a gas turbine engine provides the thrusting power. A jet engine applies a force to gas particles it expels in its exhaust.
According to Newton’s third law, the ejected gas particles apply an equal force in the opposite direction on the jet engine.
Because the engine is connected to the aircraft, this force propels the aircraft in a direction opposite to that of the gas particles.
Want to find out more about Newton’s Third Law of Motion, here is a Rocket Car to construct that demonstrates how rockets move by means of action and reaction.
WHO COVID-19
Protect Yourself and Others
If COVID-19 is spreading in your community, stay safe by taking some simple precautions, such as physical distancing, wearing a mask, keeping rooms well ventilated, avoiding crowds, cleaning your hands, and coughing into a bent elbow or tissue. Check local advice where you live and work. Do it all!.
