Cell phones are picked up each morning and returned to students every afternoon at Helix Community Schools. A new state law recently went into effect that bans students from having cell phones or smart watches on their person during school hours. Studies have shown that reducing cell phone usage at school can lead to better concentration, more social engagement and higher grades.
