It feels like déja vu. All of us at MCE sincerely hope that all of you are staying healthy and safe while finding ways to cope with this latest round of Covid restrictions.
Marci Ruhl, our Hamilton/Halton/Niagara Business Development Officer and I had the pleasure of attending a virtual meeting facilitated last week by Paul Hawkins, Hamilton Chamber of Commerce. Together, with other trainers and educators, we discussed the transition we have made from face-to-face to virtual learning. We agreed virtual learning is here to stay. We also discussed never using the word “pivot” again!
Our strategy at MCE is, always has been, and always will be, to do whatever is best to meet our customers' needs. The vast majority of our customers have embraced virtual learning incredibly well. Our tagline; Same great content, same great facilitators, new method of delivery – just at a safe distance, has served us well.
Virtual learning has allowed our customers to expand the reach of training. By including employees from multiple locations, including the U.S. and across Canada, virtual sessions provide the opportunity for team building and networking while learning new skills. Also saves those expensive travel dollars!
However, virtual is not for everyone nor is it for every type of training. We will continue to provide face-to-face when and where we can do it safely for those that prefer it and when it makes the most sense.
Soon, we will have a third option. As you will see below we are moving to Thinkific for our website and Learning Management System. This will provide many new opportunities including the ability to offer asynchronous online learning. We are very excited about this. It also opens up the possibility of blended learning which could be a combination of face-to-face, virtual and online – something for every learner!
Stay tuned! We have lots of exciting things to come!
