903 Main Street | Manchester, CT | 860.647.6029 | WORKSPACEmanchester.com
Although quiet now, we look forward to welcoming our members and friends back to our collaborative work space offering:
  • 6 digitally equipped meeting rooms,
  • a photographer's suite,
  • an entrepreneurs' mastermind group (launching soon), and
  • for the first time in 6-months, available office space

When we titled our last newsletter March Mayhem , little did we know the mayhem that would ensue. It is now April and we have a long way to go but as the blog below states, our collective resilience will enable us to get through this together.

WORK_SPACE is known as a place for people to meet, learn, create and work. Obviously there are no collective gatherings happening at 903 Main Street, however our community remains strong with virtual connections, shared resources and mutual attitudes of good will.

WORK_SPACE has teamed with Imagine Main Street and Manchester's Department of Leisure, Family and Recreation to unite independent artists to work alone and yet together to decorate the sidewalks of open Downtown businesses.
Each volunteer artist creates a unique design in chalk. The businesses who have been visited and the public who sees the work are encouraged to post images to social media and spread the word that Downtown Manchester is #BetterTogether.

The Entrepreneur’s Alphabet: R is for RESILIENCE
by: Stacey Zackin, PhD, MSW, PCC (Manager, WORK_SPACE)
It is synergistic that as we are in the throes of what has been labeled “the new normal,” that the next letter in the alphabetical rotation of values is R for Resilience . By definition, resilience is the ability to adapt or bounce back; to recover from illness, adversity or depression; to return to one’s original form or position after being bent, compressed or stretched. I think we can all relate to feeling bent, compressed and stretched as of late...

“I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.” - Maya Angelou

“Rock bottom became the solid foundation in which I rebuilt my life.” - J.K. Rowling

“She stood in the storm and when the wind did not blow her way, she adjusted her sails.” - Elizabeth Edwards

“A good half of the art of living is resilience.” - Alain de Botton

“Grief and resilience live together.” - Michelle Obama, Becoming

“If you're going through hell, keep going.” - Winston Churchill

“The oak fought the wind and was broken, the willow bent when it must and survived.” - Robert Jordan, The Fires of Heaven

“If your heart is broken, make art with the pieces." - Shane Koyczan

"I can't say enough about WORK SPACE! I am a sales professional who works remotely and I recently made the decision to find office space rather than work from home. The staff here is professional, friendly, and super willing to help in all things. The space is beautiful! Not only do I have the freedom to make my spot feel like home, but the artwork around the building is absolutely inspired. Connecting with other members here has been a joy. If you haven't come for a visit, it's your turn!" - Laura Beth Hunley
