New! August 2020 Student Spotlight with Caroline Caratini, EMPA ‘21
For the August 2020 Student Spotlight, we spoke with Fire Safety Education Administrator, Caroline Caratini, Executive MPA ‘21, at the New York City Fire Department about her career, completing her degree after more than two decades in the Marxe School’s Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs-FDNY partnership program, and her experience as an Executive MPA student. New! MPA Student, Joshua Thomas- Serrano, Included in 40 Under 40: The Rising Stars in NYC Food Policy (Class of 2020)
The Hunter College New York City Food Policy Center has released its annual class of New York City’s 40 individuals under 40 years old who are working to transform the food system. Congratulations are in order to Joshua Thomas- Serrano, MPA '21, for being included in this prestigious list. Joshua is currently the Senior Marketing and DevelopmentManager/Teens for Food Justice. Marxe communication professor Don Waisanen is looking for a graduate assistant for the coming academic year to assist with a variety of interesting tasks including disseminating, coordinating online events and other outreach, and administrative tasks related to some new book releases (on different topics from communication and leadership development to voter suppression), and more. The Marxe School of Public and International Affairs announces the opening of a graduate assistant position on a temporary basis for a research project that focuses on the reorganization
and operation of the U.S. asylum system. This system adjudicates the applications of people, who seek refuge from persecution, from all parts of the world. The graduate assistant will work under the supervision of Neil Hernandez, who is assistant professor for public and nonprofit management; he is also a former U.S. asylum officer. Apply by August 10th
Executives on Campus - 2020-2021 Academic Year-Long Mentoring Program | Apply by 9/2

The program connects Baruch students with professionals who help them develop their networking, interviewing, and other business etiquette skills to make them competitive in today's job market. EOC mentors are experienced executives (including many Baruch alumni) who volunteer their time to support, counsel, and serve as role models for mentees, including helping them define and achieve their career goals.
