Ryan McLaughlin is thrilled to be joining the Kula Heart Community, offering acupuncture and East Asian medicine. Ryan was raised here in Bethlehem, and moved to Oregon in search of the mountains 11 years ago. The trail she followed led her to study and graduate with a Masters degree from a lineage based classical Chinese medicine program in Portland, OR. As an acupuncture intern, Ryan volunteered in multiple recovery programs offering acupuncture to those in search of freedom from addiction. She completed 4 years of mentorship post-graduation with her herbal and classical Chinese medicine mentor in a rural community in the Columbia River Gorge, OR.
The land there, too, became a great teacher. Ryan dove deep into ethically foraging and growing many of her own foods and herbs, raising goats, and is passionate about connecting people to the land in this way. She spent as much as her free time in the forest and mountains as possible with her dog Sukha- exploring, gathering, climbing, and being. Her avid exploring of the mountains inspired a fierce sense of independence and Ryan created Flourish of Life Medicine (based out of Portland, OR.)
Flourish offers individual Chinese medicine sessions, group acupuncture meditation sessions with a percussive sound journey [Kula Heart Fam- Stay tuned for Touch of Sound!!!], organized outdoor excursions for meditation and empowerment, and custom culinary/medicinal herb and veggie garden installations in residences. Because the medicine that allows you to truly flourish encompasses many areas of life. It is truly whole.
In March 2019, Ryan adjusted life priorities to family and moved back to Bethlehem. She is absolutely passionate about spreading the ancient wisdom of East Asian Medicine combined with the true science of acupuncture, and is humbly grateful to be so whole-heartedly welcomed into the Kula Heart Family.
