Cheboygan Area Public Library

Welcome to the Cheboygan Area Public Library!

The mission of the Cheboygan Area Public Library is to provide quality materials and services which fulfill the educational, informational, cultural and recreational needs of the entire community in an atmosphere that is welcoming, respectful and professional.
We are a district library that is dedicated to serving the Aloha Township, Benton Township, Beaugrand Township, the City of Cheboygan, Grant Township, Inverness Township and portions of Hebron and Munro Townships.

We strive to making your visit a positive experience by providing the best collection of books and media that we can, as well as, offering a variety of programs, classes, and services for all our patrons and the community.

Mask Up!
Per recent recommendations from our local health department based on increasing community transmission, masks will once again be required for all patrons over the age of 2 as of August 6, 2021 regardless of vaccination status.

We will be returning to our previous policy of having the front doors locked so please ring the doorbell for entry.

We have masks in the lobby if you don't have one with you.

Curbside service is still available for anyone who needs it.

More Upcoming Programs
Don't miss out on the upcoming events and programs the Cheboygan Area Public Library is hosting!
YA Take & Read Book Club
Although kids are headed back to school, Cheboygan Area Public Library is happy to say that the Take & Make activity kits have been so well received that the Library is going to continue to offer them! The Take & Make kits will make fun after-school or weekend projects!

The Take & Make kits that are geared for kids aged 4-12 will remain the same fun packages that are available every Monday! There will be a little change up for the kits geared for older kids.

The Take & Make for older kiddos will become Take & Read kits that will include a book and related DIY project.

These Take & Read kits will be made available on the first Monday of every month, starting in October.

The Take & Read kits will still be free but will require sign-up so we make sure to order the right number of books and supplies for each kit, especially considering the project will be a little more complex (but still fun!).

Anyone who is aged 12 to 18 is invited to participate in the Take & Read program. To sign up, call the Library at 231-627-2381 or stop by during regular Library hours at 100 S. Bailey Street.

The first Take & Read will be Eragon: Inheritance, Book One by Christopher Paolini. The first project will be dragon eggs!

This first Take & Read will be available October 4!
