Merry Christmas!

All of us at Livingston County Catholic Charities (LCCC) wish each of you all of the wonders and joys of Christmas. We thank you for your continued trust in the work that our team does on behalf of each of you who so generously give throughout the year, whether it is of your time, treasure, talent or prayers.

Just as the Christ child and his parents were the most vulnerable persons, so are the people LCCC serves each day. We are able to see the Christ in each person.

When Mary and Joseph were looking for a place to have the baby, they were turned away by many. Some kindly strangers provided the stable where the Christ child was born. Christ entered the world as a most lowly person. He knew what it was like to be disenfranchised from society.

You, my friend, give as the strangers provided the manger. You provide witness and comfort to our clients as the shepherds watched and angels sang. You honor them as the three kings brought the gold, frankincense, and myrrh to honor Him.  Matthew 25:40 "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.' It is through you that we serve all of God’s children.

As you celebrate this wonderful holiday with your families, celebrate yourselves. You are an extension of the Lord’s hand to whoever is in need. And remember you are not alone as you walk through your journey; Christ is walking with you.

We pray that the blessings you bring to this organization are extended to you and your family.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Kathleen Oemke, Board President

"I thank the Lord for the people who do this for us! Sometimes this is all the Christmas I get."
-Roxanne Graham (with volunteers, Dennis & Chris Wysocki)

The Christmas Blessing project is a community supported project. This project brings the Love of Christ, Help & Hope to community low income and home-bound seniors by supplying a Christmas food box, hygiene items, cleaning & paper products and more!

We sincerely thank all of the amazingly generous local businesses, individuals, clubs, schools, churches, organizations and groups for the incredible amount of items and funds donated to serve our county's most vulnerable seniors! Brighton NC Machine Inc., a precision machining company located in Brighton Michigan, has been supporting Livingston County Catholic Charities for many years. They employ 125 people and have been in business since 1965 - almost 55 years.

They are one of many long time, and generous supporters of Livingston County Catholic Charities community projects including our Gleaner’s food drive, Easter basket project for foster children, and most recently the Christmas Blessing project which provides a full Christmas for low income, home bound seniors.

This year, not only did they donate hundreds of dollars and boxes of food, but they also donated several staff and owners to assist in the deliveries.
If you'd like to learn more about how your school or organization can become involved in this wonderful project for next year, please contact Suzi Snyder at 517-546-9910.
