THIS WEEK'S TALK BY

Rev. Cath DePalma

"Happy Easter!"

What is the New Thought message of Easter? What does death, resurrection and ascension have to do with us? There has to be something. Join us and find out what that could be.

- Rev. Cath

For the past 7 years, Rev. Cath has helped communities move through transition as an Interim Minister for Centers for Spiritual Living. She has authored 2 books with a 3rd one on the way: I Do My Best Work Behind the Scenes. Previously, she served as Co-Director of Central Florida CSL, (Orlando), with her husband, John, for 26 years. Currently she lives in Kelowna, British Columbia with her husband, enjoying the great Northwest.

GUEST ARTISTS

Sean O'Shea and Laurie O'Shea

Sean O'Shea

Many of you will remember Sean O’Shea as he was CSLN’s Music Ministry Director from June of 2011 through December, 2014 and has been a musical guest and featured speaker over the years as a friend and supporter of this community.

Reverend Sean O’Shea has been an ardent New Thought student for 40-plus years and was ordained in Divine Science in July of 2022.

Over the course of his career as a singer-songwriter and inspirational speaker, Sean has been interviewed live on ABC’s Good Morning America and has twice opened for author and television personality Dr. Wayne Dyer.

Laurie O’Shea is a songwriter, singer and keyboardist focused on writing feel-good songs for all. She has a bachelor’s degree in Music for the Media, and since moving from MA to TN in 2003, has performed in numerous songwriter rounds and spiritual venues. Laurie recently has become drawn to musical theater, performing with a network of talented writers from New Musical Theatre Nashville.

One of her favorite adventures with her husband, Sean, is when they travel to a spiritual center, perform a Saturday night “coffee-house” concert, then speak/perform Sunday morning with a workshop following. According to Laurie, there are fewer things better in life than singing, playing, meeting new people, and getting to do it with your best friend and partner.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

What Would You Give to Create Change?

What would you give to create change? Change in your life… your relationships… your Center… your world?

At CSL Nashville, we know that giving is a powerful spiritual practice. When we give from a consciousness of love, trust, and joy, we participate in the Law of Circulation, affirming that we live in a Universe that supports and multiplies our good.

We’re inviting you to make a conscious giving commitment that supports your own spiritual expansion and helps sustain our beloved community. When you give, you anchor the truth that you are abundant, that you are part of something meaningful, and that Spirit meets you every step of the way.

Make your pledge to CSLN's Pledge Campaign today and let your giving be a sacred “yes” to abundance!

Changes to Hospitality

We greatly appreciate our hospitality volunteers and the generosity and care they bring to our fellowship time after the service! To make it easier for them, manage the Center's costs and still provide a time for all of us to gather after the service, we are making some changes to hospitality. CSLN will provide veggies and hummus, cheese and crackers and nuts as standard snacks every Sunday. The hospitality volunteers may augment those snacks with items of their choosing. Members are always welcome to also bring something. When we have workshops or meetings after the service, we will provide these light refreshments and invite people to bring their lunch or a dish to share if something more is desired. Thank you to this wonderful team who make our time together after our service so special!

CARING HEARTS CORNER

Welcome to the Caring Hearts Corner! This space is dedicated to keeping you informed about the needs in our community and how you can lend a helping hand.

Community

Dottie Uwaifo, one of our beloved practitioners, has requested continued prayer and spiritual support for her family members.

Betty Lou Carter, mother of practitioner Marietta Carter, made her transition recently. Please hold special prayers for Marietta and her family as they walk through their grief.

Our team recently received and responded to a referral request to assist member Desi Smith who has been going through kidney dialysis treatment. Desi has requested prayer and prayer treatment from our community to help her manifest a new kidney. Please help her along with our team by holding her in love and perfect health. Team members have spoken with Desi and will continue to reach out to her to provide emotional support and as we hold the high watch for her during this process.

Our team is currently assisting other members who prefer not to be mentioned by name. Please help us hold them in positive thought and prayer.

Team News

Caring Hearts now has a new Mission Statement and Scope of Purpose. We are increasing CSLN awareness of our team to help our community even more.

We are now using the new https://csln.breezechms.com/form/caringhearts to assist our members after reviewing their situations. All spiritual requests for help will be referred to our CSLN Practitioners. Needs beyond our scope will be referred to our Critical Resources List for assistance.

The team meets on the second Monday of every month. Our next team meeting will be held via Zoom on Monday, May 12th.

In our last meeting on April 14, we discussed the ways that we are currently assisting those who have reached out to our team as well as up-and-coming directions for the team. More information will be provided in the next newsletter.

Referral Form

In order to make helping our community even easier, we now have a direct way to refer CSLN members to Caring Hearts for short-term help. The referral form is at the following web address: https://csln.breezechms.com/form/caringhearts

BOOKSTORE BUZZ

Have you been to the bookstore lately?

It’s on the right side of the sanctuary, in the same space as the classroom. It’s open after the service, until at least 1:30. Remember, you can also donate using your credit or debit card in the bookstore!

We still have copies of Candy Paull’s books, which would make great Easter gifts. She wrote several books on the Art of Life: The Art of Encouragement, The Art of Abundance, and The Art of Simplicity. If you are finding life stressful, her book Finding Serenity in Times of Stress is available in hardback, paperback and CD. There are also her books on 101 Ways to Live a Better Life. Come look before they’re all gone!

We have the Science of Mind textbook, Dr. Holmes’ commentary on the textbook, Living the Science of Mind, and another well-loved book by our founder, This Thing Called You. We have Dennis Merritt Jones’ book, How to Speak Science of Mind, and you can also pick up the Science of Mind magazine. We also have a variety of related books available by other authors.

If there is another book you would like to have available in the bookstore, feel free to leave a suggestion.

SPIRITUAL MIND TREATMENT

Laura Landress, RScP

Let's start with a calming technique: I breathe in calm and I breathe out ease. I breathe in calm and I breathe out ease:

I know there is one, infinite intelligence, all-powerful and all-encompassing mind and life of God. It is all good and everything I do, say or think is governed by this Divine Wisdom within me. I am immersed in the unconditional love of God. Easter this week is a gift of resurrection. Every day the wisdom and love of God resurrects me from thinking thoughts I do not want and redirects me to the true goodness, light and love of God. I choose to live in prosperity, harmony, peace and love. I know that I am aligned with divine intelligence and this is so. I choose to shine this light. Enthusiastic joy, vitality and health express as and through me. I am open to all of God's gifts. I am so thankful for this knowing! I am thankful for God's unconditional love. I release my word knowing it is true right now,

And So It Is!
