As I prepared to share my reflection and blessing for Livingston County Catholic Charites (LCCC) I reviewed previous Christmas newsletter blessing from the past Board Presidents. Mary Burns-Coral, my predecessor, shared about HOPE and how that was the wish and prayer for ALL from LCCC and I would like to continue that same thought as we look to 2026.
How can we not be hopeful as we celebrate the birth of a newborn Savior to a world that needs Him more than ever. An opportunity to build on your current faith and for others to see a new faith that perhaps has waned because of the strain of everyday life. A HOPE that we can have a life where we walk closer to Jesus daily. A HOPE that is strengthened by having a new, beautifully constructed facility (thank you to all who had a hand in making it a reality). HOPE in ever increasing LCCC’s impact on the community: over 5,00 people served and positively impacted, 945 people receiving mental health and substance abuse services and almost 9,000 hours of service that were provided to both caregivers and clients through the Be Our Guest Adult Day Program. And we cannot forget the over 100 adults with disabilities who served through the Special Ministries Program.
I often hear that HOPE is not a strategy, but I beg to differ. I say we embrace it and use what Jesus has given us to make 2026 the best year possible. I believe that this year LCCC, its employees and volunteers, will have a great impact on those who we service and help all of us to create a better world.
Lastly, on behalf of the entire Board I gratefully thank the LCCC staff, the fantastic volunteers and all the generous supporters, like yourself. None of this is possible without you!
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. - Romans 15:13
Blessings,
Michael Sage, LCCC Board President
