Vol. 101, June 2026
| | A Night to Remember a Salute to the Stars | | |
On May 21, 2026, Livingston County Catholic Charities (LCCC) held its annual Salute to the Stars event at the Reserve Event Center, bringing together community members for an evening of recognition and support.
Thanks to our donors generosity, the event raised a little over $100,000 in support of Livingston County Catholic Charities' mission. This remarkable achievement reflects the compassion and commitment of community members like you, and it ensures that our programs can continue to meet the growing needs of over 5,000 individuals in our community each year.
We were proud to present our Community Awards, celebrating individuals who go above and beyond to make Livingston County a better place. These awards honor the true spirit of service—the heart and soul of our community.

Guest speaker Ellen Salter delivered an emotional message on redemptive suffering. Her message not only transforms the way we view suffering, but also carries us closer to the heart of Christ for healing. Ellen spoke passionately about being called to care for her daughter, Meghan, now 23, who was not expected to live past six months. Meghan is completely dependent on others and is unable to eat, speak, move, or even breathe on her own. Although born healthy, her health began to decline within months, and she remains a mystery to the medical field. She has been lovingly cared for at home around the clock and has been on life support since infancy. More about Ellen & Megan.
Prior to the Live Giving portion of the evening, Sister Joanne Belloli, a therapist at Livingston County Catholic Charities, shared the long history of mental health counseling at LCCC, along with inspiring quotes from client success stories.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this evening a success. Your support helps ensure that LCCC can continue serving those in need throughout Livingston County.

| | June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month | | |
In recognition of Elder Abuse Awareness Month, Livingston County Catholic Charities' Prevention of Elder Abuse, Neglect & Exploitation Program is pleased to provide three new informational videos. We are thankful for funding graciously provided by AgeWays Senior Program. These educational videos were created to share with our community and partner agencies to help keep our seniors and vulnerable adults safe from the snares of scammers that want to rid them of their money, good credit, and even their identity.
Once you have viewed the videos, we encourage you to share them with anyone and you feel could benefit from the valuable information. If you have any questions, please reach out to Beth Newman at 517/545-5944 ext. 122, or beth@livingstoncc.org.
