2025 LOAVES & FISH APPEAL

Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish.– John 6:11

Livingston County Catholic Charities (LCCC) is kicking off our annual fundraiser – Loaves & Fish Appeal.  Your donation this year is critical to providing vital and professional services here in our community!

We’d like to share with you how your generosity helps provide valuable programs and services.

A Donation of:

OPEN ENROLLMENT for Medicare’s Prescription Drug Coverage (Part D) starts 10/15/2025 – 12/7/2025 with coverage starting 1/1/2026. It is important to re-evaluate your current coverage to make sure that you are still in the appropriate plan for your current situation. This is also a good time to see what changes your current plan may have for 2025 (increased premium, medications not covered or have a higher co-pay, etc.)

Some people may qualify for extra help such as lower or no premiums for their prescription coverage and lower co-pays or no co-pays for their medications. Ask your MMAP counselor to see if you qualify.

* IMPORTANT **

Medicare will NEVER call trying to sell you an insurance plan and will NEVER call asking for your Medicare number.

The LCCC Home Injury Control Program (HIC) and the Chore Program can help provide items such as grab bars, enhanced lighting, change light bulbs, caulk windows and doors, attach weather stripping, add hand rails, repair existing hand rails, and a myriad of other items for seniors aged 60+ years. Funding has been provided by the Ageways and through the Livingston County Board of Commissioners.

In a recent study conducted by AARP, 77% of people aged 50 years and older want to remain in their homes as long as possible. LCCC Staff are working hard with that goal in mind. Last year the Home Injury Control Program served 72 participants and installed 165 pieces of home safety equipment, while the Chore Program served 83 participants and provided 454 hours of service. 100% of participants reported services allow them to live safely in their home and a decrease in stress after services were provided.

Client Quote: "Paul was very thorough and made sure he understood my needs. Everything is perfect. I feel very safe in my house with the addition of all the railings."
