Continuity and Change in Our Leadership

Amy Buell previously served as the Foster Care Supervisor and most recently as a therapist with Livingston County Catholic Charities. In the beginning of January, she stepped into the role of Clinical Director, succeeding John Furey.

John retired after nearly eight years of dedicated service in that position, and we are grateful that he will continue with the agency part-time as a therapist. “Working at LCCC has been the best job I’ve ever had in 43 years of being a therapist. I am looking forward to continuing to work with the very successful Livingston County Adult Drug Court as a part-timer. I will also be helping Amy to learn her new leadership role for as long as she needs my support.” Amy says, “I’m glad to be able to continue to serve the community and agency in a new role and grateful for John’s continued support.”

We are excited for this new chapter and confident in Amy’s leadership as she guides our clinical team forward.

Your Donations MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Your donations assisted 208 county seniors in understanding and navigating their plans during the recent Medicare Open Enrollment period. This equates to 171 hours between October and December! This service is provided at no cost to the senior through the LCCC Community Liaison Program.

Currently there are currently four drug plans with zero premiums, and we had great success connecting more users with these plans saving them money.

"I have been coming to Beth for years and she always puts me on the right path. She is outstanding in every way!"

"Beth did a wonderful job of guiding me through the Medicare and prescription choices. I am so grateful to have her guidance and knowledge!

LCCC strongly urges every senior that has Medicare, have their plans reviewed every year between October 15 and December 7.

If you could use assistance with researching or understanding your plan, contact Beth at 517-545-5944.

LCCA Staff Highlight

To round out our 3-month introduction of the LCCA Board Members we have to highlight the person who helps keep everything running smoothly — Holly Oswalt, Coordinator of the Livingston County Community Alliance!

Holly is the glue that holds our coalition together — organizing, supporting, and inspiring our members every step of the way. Her dedication, leadership, and genuine care for our community make all the difference in the work we do.

Born and raised in Livingston County, we thank you, Holly, for your passion, hard work, and heart for continuing to make a difference in this community.

Holly is also a Certified Tourism Ambassador for the Brighton and Howell Area! She LOVES finding grammatical errors in books, articles, and even movie subtitles — and she’s not shy about letting the publisher or production company know when she spots one! We think this could be because she has a Bachelor's Degree in English!t

LCCA's coalition meetings are every second Tuesday of the month (except for July and December). "Join us for our general coalition meeting on Tuesday, February 10th from 6:00–7:30 PM at Livingston Educational Service Agency (LESA) in the Innovation room. LCCA meetings are open to the public and provide an opportunity to learn about ongoing efforts, upcoming events, and ways to get involved in creating a healthier Livingston County."
