SENIOR SERVICES HOME SERVICE TECH
We are looking for a reliable, skilled maintenance worker to perform essential household maintenance tasks for Livingston County seniors 24 hours weekly. In this position, you will be responsible for a wide variety of activities to increase the safety of seniors living in their own homes. Services include, but not limited to, installing safety equipment (grab bars, hand rails), and household maintenance task (weather stripping, caulking, door/lock repairs). This position will also work closely with a contracted entity to ensure task completion. Experience with senior population preferred. $20.00 per hour. Competitive benefit package.

LCCC Leads Veterans and Senior Suicide Prevention Seminar
|
|
Roughly 22 Veterans commit suicide every day and nearly 1/4 of all suicides in the
U.S are people age 65+.
The Social Work Program from Veterans Affairs in Ann Arbor, Veteran Services in Livingston County, together with Livingston County Catholic Charities Prevention of Elder Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation recently collaborated to bring awareness and education regarding suicide awareness and prevention among Veterans and Seniors.
This incredible day-long seminar provided information and awareness on the continual increase in suicides in people 60 and above and the alarming number of Veteran suicides. Presenters informed attendees on alarming statistics, red flags to look out for, and resources for both demographics. This collaborative event was incredibly meaningful and will positively impact seniors and Veterans Countywide. Thank you to the following presenters for partnering with Livingston County Catholic Charities to continue spreading information and education about these important topics.

In the Elder Abuse Recovery Support Group, participants are safe from judgement and embarrassment. They are encouraged to share their experience and learn from others. LCCC’s experienced Prevention of Elder Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation (PEANE) team will also assist participants to find resources within our community.
