We're Moving to a New Home!

Exciting things are happening at Livingston County Catholic Charities—we’re moving! As we prepare for this next chapter, our team is busy packing up and getting ready to settle into our new location at: 2895 W. Grand River Ave., Howell, MI.

To complete the move, our office will be temporarily closed at the end of June, but we’ll reopen and be fully operational at our new address on July 1.

Thank you for your patience and continued support. We look forward to welcoming you to our new space soon!

A Night to Remember: Salute to the Stars 2025

On May 28, 2025, Livingston County Catholic Charities (LCCC) held its annual Salute to the Stars event at the Reserve Event Center, bringing together community members for an evening of recognition and support.

Guest speaker Pete Burak delivered a thoughtful message on discipleship and evangelism, and then led a successful live auction raising funds for LCCC's senior services programs.

Thanks to our donors generosity, the event raised over $100,000, a record-breaking milestone in support of Livingston County Catholic Charities' (LCCC) mission. This remarkable achievement reflects the compassion and commitment of community members like you, and it ensures that our programs can continue to meet the growing needs of nearly 4,000 individuals in our community each year.

We were proud to present our Community Awards, celebrating individuals who go above and beyond to make Livingston County a better place. These awards honor the true spirit of service—the heart and soul of our community.

  • Munsell Family Volunteer of the Year Award: Paul Benedict
  • Mark Robinson Community Impact Award: Steve Gronow

One of the most heartfelt moments of the evening came when Frank and Pat Collins, clients of our senior services program, shared their powerful story. Their journey spoke to the challenges of aging and the critical difference your support makes in providing connection, dignity, and relief for seniors and their families.

The live giving raised funds to support our Senior Services Programs: Volunteer Caregiver, Community Liaison, Home Injury Control & Chore, and Prevention of Elder Abuse. These services are offered at no cost, though donations are welcome from those who are able.

We ended the evening with toast to celebrate the agencies 40th anniversary. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this evening a success. Your support helps ensure that LCCC can continue serving those in need throughout Livingston County.

New LCCC Logo Unveiled

You may have noticed the new logo in the header of this newsletter. We are excited to announce that we are rolling it out simultaneously with our move to the new location.

Catholic Charities organizations across the country are embracing a more cohesive and recognizable brand identity.

Our new logo features a church silhouette, symbolizing both the central role of the Church in our community and the sanctuary it provides.

The shape also subtly incorporates two inverted C’s—representing Catholic Charities—woven into the structure of the Church.

At the heart of the logo is the Cross, signifying the constant presence of the LORD in all we do. We serve Him by serving others.

Creativity in Action: Highlights from the Youth Art Voice Event

Livingston County youth have much to share related to their perception of and experiences with mental health. Youth Art Voice encourages youth to explore and communicate what mental health means from their unique viewpoints and experiences. Art, in various forms, including photos, sculptures, drawings, paintings, poems, and music, is being used by youth as a way of expressing themselves around this important topic.

An estimated 150 community members attended the exhibit at The Howell Opera House on May 16th and Pinckney Art in the Park on May 31st and June 1st. Community members shared that they were moved by the art the youth created. One community member shared, "I wish this was around for my daughter when she was in high school. She struggled with mental health, and I think this would have been such a great outlet for her. Thank you for working with the youth and capturing their voice."

Art Therapy at Be Our Guest

Art helps manage the complex emotions that come with memory loss. Feelings of anxiety, frustration and sadness are common among people experiencing Alzheimer's or dementia. Engaging with art can help patients cope with the emotional impact of memory loss. Created pieces of art can also be helpful in gaining an understanding as to how the person with dementia is feeling.

Be Our Guest Adult Day Service provides a supportive and caring environment for memory impaired adults who would benefit from a structured day club-like setting. Our goal is to provide meaningful services that enrich the lives of older adults, families and caregivers.
