July 2021 Newsletter
Greetings!

Cy-Hope’s Hope Centers have been one of our flagship programs since we opened our doors in 2011. Children come to the Hope Centers after school for tutoring, life skills classes, mentoring, snacks and recreation. We also launched a Mobile Hope Center offering STEM education to children throughout our community. We began with two Hope Centers and now have six Hope Centers serving over 100 students weekly. Our centers function as community centers for their neighborhoods, often holding family events like Easter egg hunts, Neon Nights Fall Festivals, Thanksgiving Community Dinners, and holiday parties. Read on to learn more about these vital neighborhood gathering places and how they are helping students throughout Cy-Fair and now Waller.
SPOTLIGHT ON THE HOPE CENTERS
Cy-Hope has now re-opened all of our Hope Centers after a year of limited programming due to COVID-19. We have also added a new Hope Center in partnership with Waller United Methodist Church to serve Waller ISD students. HELP OUR LONGHORN HOPE CENTER THRIVE AFTER STORM DAMAGE
What if we all gave together? We can! Starting on July 19, our community can come together to help Cy-Hope fundraise for the Longhorn Hope Center Rebuild. Cy-Hope is one of the charities participating in A Community Thrives, a program that supports community improvement ideas with grants up to $100K. To qualify for a grant, Cy-Hope needs to meet a fundraising goal from our own network. Help us raise awareness and funds by saving the date and donating online on our Mightycause fundraising page from July 19th through August 13th. Remember - July 19th through August 13th is the time to give!
CAMP LEMONADE NEEDS A NURSE
This year, Cy-Hope will take 30 Hope Center students to Camp Lemonade at Stoney Creek Ranch from August 2-5. We need a nurse to help perform lice checks on students at our send-off on August 2nd. Email us if you are a nurse that can help on that day.
SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR HOPE CENTERS
Our Hope Centers are running low on all supplies - snacks, cleaning supplies, hope bucks prizes, and new school supplies for our August back-to-school event to fill kids' backpacks! Read more for drop-off location and suggested snack items.
