Safe + Sound Week and #MySafeSummerJob Campaigns Highlight Summer Safety
|
We would like to remind everyone about the My Safe Summer Job campaign and OSHA’s Safe + Sound Week campaign that is taking place this summer.
#MySafeSummerJob
The #MySafeSummerJob campaign is dedicated to empowering our most at-risk segment of the workforce: young workers. Every minute, a worker between the ages of 15 and 25 is injured on the job, and a young worker loses their life every day in a workplace incident. These injuries and deaths are preventable!
Visit MySafeSummerJob.org for more information about how you can participate in this important campaign!
Safe + Sound Week
Safe + Sound Week is a campaign OSHA hosts every year in August. This year, Safe + Sound Week will occur the week of August 9-15. The campaign is a celebration of the safety efforts made by organizations throughout the year. We encourage everyone to take a step back and focus on the importance of protecting workers throughout the year and focus on what each organization has done right and what needs improvement.
We encourage you to use the hashtag #SafeAndSoundAtWork during the week of August 9-15 and share your safety successes. For more information on participating in Safe + Sound Week, visit OSHA.gov/safeandsoundweek.

The Board of Certified Safety Professionals® (BCSP®) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Jordan Engineers Association (JEA). BCSP Board President Joaquin Diaz and JEA President Ahmad Qasem Al Sammarah signed the MOU virtually on May 17, solidifying a partnership between the two organizations.
The MOU signals an agreement to develop leaders in safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) practice through global certification—enhancing careers, advancing the profession, and protecting people. The organizations will carry out this mission through a shared cooperative effort.
“This is a tremendous partnership that continues the expansion of BCSP’s relationships in the Middle East. This partnership provides enhanced opportunities for industry stakeholders in fulfilling our vision of a safer globe. BCSP Employee Spotlight: Sheila Silva
|
Our Digital team has put together a campaign where each month we feature a new BCSP® employee!
Up first is Sheila Silva, our Senior Manager of Certification Services. If you’ve ever called or emailed BCSP, there's a good chance you talked to Sheila or someone on her team. She knows everything there is to know about BCSP, and we don’t know what we would do without her!
We hope this provides a little insight into why we love working at BCSP and serving you, the safety professional, and hopefully you'll get to know us as we have gotten to know so many of you over the years.
