Chairperson Toolkit - Fundamentals of Chairing Meetings
South East District recently compiled a Chairperson Toolkit to help strengthen local leaders knowledge and skills who are taking on these important positions within boards and committees. "I don't ever want to be a chair - that is too scary!" "I do not want to be the boss?!" "I just don't have the confidence to chair meetings." - these are some of the rumblings we hear, and this toolkit provides tips, tools and best practices that can help you to lead productive and effective meetings for your board or committee! Check it out!

Also, consider hosting our Effective Meetings mini workshop at your next board meeting - we can offer it virtually over our zoom platform! Contact Joni Hagen, ED, at ed@southeastdistrict.ca for more information.

Culture Days: September 25 – October 25, 2020
Here in Saskatchewan, Culture Days will continue to be an opportunity to highlight cultural activities and engage people from all areas of the province in free, interactive cultural activity. It’s an opportunity to find out more about Saskatchewan’s dynamic cultural community – and inspire individuals and families to spend time, over the Culture Days, to find out how they can make arts and culture part of their lives.

In response to COVID-19, more and more artists and creatives are exploring the idea of going digital. Looking ahead to September, we’re also encouraging Culture Days organizers who can do so to plan for the possibility of pivoting from in-person to online events. To read more about the other sorts of programming we are supporting this year, visit the Participation Guide.
Spotlight Story: Capital Projects In Whitewood During COVID-19
What community projects/improvements have you been working on? We have done quite a few large projects this year, some of the highlights would be the dog park we built at the north west side of town. This was built from fundraising money, we had a proposal sent out to surrounding businesses and we were able to raise over $11,000.
Celebrate Coaches Week by saying "Thanks Coach" September 19-27!
National Coaches Week is a week to celebrate the tremendous positive impact coaches have on athletes and communities across Canada. It’s an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play by simply saying #ThanksCoach

  • Host a National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) workshop.
  • Have a special awards ceremony to say ‘thanks’ to all of the coaches from your club.

Be creative
  • Hand make a card, and list all of the ways that your coach has helped you.
