And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice-the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect (Romans 12:1-2 NLT).
Thank You, Lord, for FOCUSED Ministries, Dr. Trisha Baker, Mother Shirlene Baker and this Administration that are being used to share with young women and men at large. I pray that You would draw each one of them closer to You as they fellowship together, pray together, and learn together. Lord, I pray that You would use this youth ministry to strengthen and encourage all those that have been blessed by this ministry. Protect them from the wiles of the enemy, who would seek to undermine their trust in You. Equip each one to look to Jesus rather than to things of the world. May they grow in grace and become an effective witness to friends and family, not only in what they say but in the godly way that they behave. Oh Lord, You alone are worthy, kind, gracious, loving, and forgiving. Thank You for loving us past our faults and not only seeing our needs, but our potential. Thank You for continuing to bless us so that we can be used by You to be a blessing to others...

A word for our youth
What Does the Bible Say About it?
He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:11-13 ESV).
The author of the Book of John shares with us a view of the life of Jesus Christ. Many then and still today question who Jesus really is and what is His significance. In verse 11 from the above passage of scripture, the author clearly shows that even His own people did not accept who He was. Many back then remember Him being the carpenter's son, the brother of James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas (Matt. 13:55). They did not see that Jesus was a big deal because of where He came from and who His people were.
Well, today, as we read through the Book of John over these summer months, the scripture in this passage say we must receive Him and believe Him and then we have the right to, "...become children of God..." - IF we believe in His name. So, that means today, you must make a decision. Now, it doesn't have to be like TODAY, but this is a decision EVERYONE has to make. This decision can be made verbally or even through our actions, but nonetheless a decision that must be made. Keep reading the Book of John. It is my prayer that the Holy Spirit opens our understanding of God's word as we read it and show us who Jesus is.

Why FOCUSED Ministries prays...
As a faith-based ministry, we must have faith to believe that what God has promised in His Word will come to pass. Our prayers are an expression of our faith in the sovereign God of this universe who has chosen us to intercede for His people.
Here are my directions: Pray much for others; plead for God’s mercy upon them; give thanks for all he is going to do for them. Pray in this way for kings and all others who are in authority over us, or are in places of high responsibility, so that we can live in peace and quietness, spending our time in godly living and thinking much about the Lord. This is good and pleases God our Savior, for he longs for all to be saved and to understand this truth: That God is on one side and all the people on the other side, and Christ Jesus, himself man, is between them to bring them together, by giving his life for all mankind. This is the message that at the proper time God gave to the world. And I have been chosen—this is the absolute truth—as God’s minister and missionary to teach this truth to the Gentiles and to show them God’s plan of salvation through faith. So I want men everywhere to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from sin and anger and resentment (1 Tim. 2:1-8 LB).

Remember your Creator IN THE DAYS OF YOUR YOUTH...
Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth before you grow old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore” (Ecclesiastes 12:1 NLT).
