Teacher Training begins September 17th!
Hello!

We are now enrolling Just Yoga's 200-hour Teacher Training class of 2022-2023.
Just Yoga’s Teacher Training curriculum is approved by Yoga Alliance and greatly exceeds their strict standards of training and subject hours. Successful completion of our Certificate Program will allow you to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher at the 200-hour level (RYT 200).

This training will add to your practice on a fundamental level. While geared to those who plan to teach, training is open to anyone who wants to explore in-depth the postures, sequences, science, and history of yoga from a “behind the scenes” standpoint in a self-empowering, inclusive space.

The Just Yoga Teacher Training curriculum is rooted in both the traditional teaching of vinyasa flow hatha yoga as well as a modern biomechanically-informed approach. You will learn how to create classes that “work” by learning:

  • anatomical structure of postures
  • relationships between posture families
  • biomechanics-based functional alignment
  • how to confidently plan a sequence for different class levels
  • physical and verbal cueing
  • safe and respectful approaches to hands-on assists
  • how to teach pregnant and injured students
  • breathing techniques
  • traditional yoga philosophy
  • an overview of the “energetic body”
  • how to market yourself and find a job as a yoga teacher

This is not a yoga teacher “puppy mill.” There is only one training offered each year and enrollment is strictly limited (and thus fills quickly). Our goal is to make sure each of our students receive full personal attention and training to become highly qualified, confident, and SAFE yoga instructors.

You will learn to teach. But most importantly, you’ll learn so much about yourself.

The Details
Course Requirements:
If a session is missed, you will need to make up the missed material. We do have some flexibility with this and will do everything we can to accommodate you, however we strongly encourage you to plan to attend every session. Make-up hours will need to be scheduled as private sessions and there will be an additional charge.

In addition to the scheduled classroom hours, you will be asked to observe or assist several class sessions throughout the training. Please note, observing and assisting sessions are subject to change in order to accommodate social distancing guidelines and public health requirements as applicable.

You will also be assigned a limited amount of homework on a regular basis that supports or complements the subject matter. This written work is a required part of your training, and all written work must be turned in and completed acceptably prior to receiving your Teaching Certificate.

Training Dates (12 weekend sessions 9/17/22-6/25/23):
Sept 17-18 | Oct 15-16 | Nov 12-13 | Dec 10-11 | Jan 7-8 2022 | Feb 4-5 | Mar 4-5 | Mar 25-26 | Apr 15-16 | May 6-7 | Jun 3-4 | Jun 24-25

Materials:
The following texts are required, and you're encouraged to purchase them as soon as possible in order to allow time for shipping and, if possible, to get a head-start on your reading assignments:

  • The Science of Yoga (Ann Swanson)
  • The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (Satchidananda translation)
Completion:
There will be unit quizzes throughout the training. Passing each is required, however, each quiz may be repeated until a concept is mastered and the quiz is passed. There will also be a final teaching presentation and a final exam. Certificates of Completion will be given on the final meeting date at the end of the training, provided that all required hours and assignments have been satisfactorily completed. This Certificate enables you to register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT-200 (Registered Yoga Teacher, 200 hour level).

Tuition:
The price for the entire session is $3200.

  • This includes unlimited yoga classes throughout the duration of the training ($1140 value if purchased separately)

  • If paid in full by August 15, 2022, tuition is discounted to $3000 ($200 saving)

  • Payment plan available, choose at check-out

This price includes all scheduled training sessions, the Training Manual (300+ pages), companion Workbook, Supplemental Reading materials (not including the required texts listed above), unlimited yoga classes, and any workshop that may be incorporated into the training.

If you have never practiced at Just Yoga, you are very strongly encouraged you to take a few classes with Lisa and as many other JY instructors as possible prior to registering. This training is a commitment; make sure you know the style of yoga we practice and teach before you commit to learning to teach it yourself.

Payment and Registration:
Payment is required to reserve your space. If this is a serious consideration, please keep in mind that since enrollment is strictly limited and and we only train 1 class per year, this training regularly sells out well in advance.
