Five weeks of Summer here at Sorrento Centre
Join us for a morning program/course during our Five Weeks of Summer with diverse opportunities to connect with your heart, mind, and other participants. Afternoons offer free time on-the-land. Enjoy the beautiful lake-front beach, take a walk, or simply rest. Evenings are filled with heart-warming and stimulating activities that are included with course cost.

Here is a sampling of some of our popular courses....

Five day-hikes — five little pilgrimages — draw wisdom from naturalists, poets, rascals, and saints as we consider our relationship within the natural world and a viable place within God’s ecology. Each day’s hike explores a new location in the Shuswap and is framed along the trail in the simple form of contemplative prayer, reflection, and sharing that has come to mark the 21st Century Pilgrims series.

Longtime Sorrento leader David Taylor and weaving teacher Ali Hurlburt are teaming up to offer a course combining spiritual reflection and hands-on crafting. How can we, as people of faith, bring that same spirit to broader questions of social and spiritual connection? We will listen, pray, and sing while we play with colours, textures and (of course) yarn!

Strengthening connection to your fully lived life. This retreat will be an intellectual and experiential journey to understand and more deeply develop our relationship to both ourselves and the divine; using the lenses of spiritual accompaniment and Jungian psychology.
This workshop will be a combination of talks, group sharing, and experiential practices.

Through a First Nations lens, with stories, humour, art and nature, we begin to understand the Circle, the gifts of the medicine wheel, and again walk in a good and kind way with our ancestors and our mother earth. One activity will involve creating a temporary Medicine Wheel in the shade in a grassy area near the beach.

Sorrento Centre was founded in 1963 by visionaries within the Anglican Church of Canada, and has grown over the years from its beginnings as a lay ministry training centre to its current role as a gathering place for all. visit our website WWW.SORRENTOCENTRE.CA
