Linda Sokol Francis Humanitarian of the Year Award


Last month, Commissioner Steve Palmer was honored by the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce with the Linda Sokol Francis Humanitarian of the Year Award for his outstanding contributions to the region and his exceptional leadership.

Al Dorobiala Celebrates 20 Years as Commissioner


The Commission recognized Al Dorobiala on his 20-year anniversary as Commissioner at our holiday party at Fourteen Sixteen last month.


Commissioner Dorobiala was first appointed in January, 2005 and has contributed to the success of the Commission by advocating for expansion of programs and financial stewardship.

Commission staff volunteer at the Village of Willow Springs Food Pantry, sponsored by The Township of Lyons, Greater Chicago Food Depository and the Willow Springs Lions Club.

The Mental Health Commission sponsored a Holiday brunch at Mercy Housing in Countryside. Mercy Housing is a housing program for low-income older adults and people with special needs.
