A Note to Our Community
Hello! Ashley, here. I am sending this message with a heart filled with every emotion that we encounter in our multi-faceted lives-from joy, sadness, happiness, fear, grief, gratitude, uncertainty (to name a few), and most importantly, love. Over the past few years, it is a ritual that I introduce the definition of yoga in the beginning of each class and program that I facilitate. One of my teachers, Nikki Myers, the founder of Y12SR, states, "Yoga itself means union, integration, balance. Yoga and its practices teach the fine art of balancing our multidimensional lives while living in a complex world."

As we are all experiencing the shifts caused by our current reality, it is the practice on my mat that has reminded me of my resilience off the mat. Similar to when I am practicing yoga asana or experiencing meditation, I ask, "What do I need to make this shape more accessible in my body," "What shift can I make to find more peace," "What thoughts, feelings and emotions am I feeling right now," "What do I need to support myself," "What characteristic am I leveraging to move from this pose (or moment) to the the next pose (or moment)? As we move through this experience, I have asked very similar, if not the same questions, along with "What do I need right now?" and "What do the people around me need right now?"

Rooted in this definition, I encourage you to continue to connect with your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual experience, and continue to use the tools explored on the mat off the mat. Use them as a way to find balance in our multidimensional lives while living in our complex world.

From myself and the BareSOUL community, we invite you to ease into connection with yourself, your current environment, your community and your world by taking time to take good care of your overall well-being. That will look many different ways for each of us, and that is the beauty in honoring our individual differences among this collective experience.

We invite you to join us in community at our offerings this month. Welcome to April.

With Love,
Ashley + The BareSOUL Tribe

5 Self Care Practices To Do
At Home

A self-care routine is a daily journey of intentional living and being mindful about your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. A self-care routine is important at all moments of our life, and especially during transitions or shifts like we are experiencing as a collective. Here are 5 self care routines to practice for more clarity, consciousness, compassion and connection for your overall well-being.
  1. Begin a daily meditation practice.
  2. Start a new book (and join us for Book Club + Social).
  3. Create a morning or nightly routine.
  4. Continue your yoga asana practice.
  5. Revisit a hobby or learn something new.
Easing Into Connection Challenge
April 1 to April 15
Join us for our Easing into Connection Challenge on Instagram!

As we navigate through shifts in our personal, professional and social life, it is important to come back to our center. The practice of mindfulness can be defined as being present in the moment with nonjudgment, compassion and acceptance to gain clarity, increase focus and manage our experience to improve our overall well-being.

We will be posting a mindfulness practice every day.

Here's how to participate:

The winner will receive an "Easing Into Connection" self care kit to support a mindful practice at home. In efforts to support the elevation of local businesses, the kit will include a candle from Green Beauty for Us, a tea blend from Roots Tea Blends, a recorded guided meditation created by our Mindfulness & Movement program, and more!
