Focusing on Literacy, Scholarships & Community Needs

PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING TO ALINC

 GIVING TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2025

Because of you, ALINC has been successful for over 40 years in helping needy children and families.

Assistance League Inland North County is deeply grateful for the community’s ongoing support of our mission to help children and families in need. As we approach Giving Tuesday, December 2nd, we hope you will join us in making a difference in the lives of those we serve.

When you support us, you help a nursing student by opening the door to gainful employment.

When you support us, you enable a formerly incarcerated man to learn a valuable trade and become a productive community member.

When you support us, children experience the joy of having new school clothes, which encourages them to improve their attendance at school.

When you support us, you inspire children and their families to discover the joy of reading, setting them on a path to success that benefits our entire community.

When you support us, you help bring some fun into a Senior’s life. Thanks to a generous grant from the Escondido Community Foundation, an affiliate of the San Diego ï»żFoundation, we are providing monthly luncheons and programs to low-income Seniors to combat social isolation and hope to reach 600 Seniors this fiscal year.

None of this is possible without YOU! Please take a look at our Facebook and Instagram posts twice a week, starting November 4th through Thanksgiving, for details on some of the people you help when you support us.

Scholarship Program

For the 2025-2026 school year ALINC awarded 65 scholarships to graduating seniors for a total of $83,000. The Scholarship & Grants

program addresses the critical present and future need for skilled nurses, emergency medical technicians and industry and trade technicians by providing grants for students already enrolled in these programs at Palomar College and California State University San Marcos School of Nursing. Recipients of these scholarships are determined by the respective schools’ nonprofit foundation that administers them. READY... SET
 READ¼!

This program promotes reading with school-age children and seeks to improve literacy by providing tutors, books, and visits with local authors. Volunteers read with individual children at Orange Glen, Juniper, and Central Elementary Schools. The program supports teachers by providing individualized attention to students who require extra support with reading.

In 2025, the following authors participated in the program: Donna Tabone, author of “Earth Falls Asleep”; Susie Gheramani, author of “Stacks the Cats”; and Shannon McNeil, author of “Sparkles, No Sparkles”, to the delight of the children.

ï»żThank you, Authors. If this program resonates with you, please consider contacting ALINC and becoming a volunteer. There is a great need for reading tutors.

A GRAND day for public relations!!

Assistance League of Inland North County participated in Escondido’s Fall Grand Avenue Festival on October 19, 2025. Member, Dedie Angelier organized the event to raise community awareness about our Thrift Shop, organization, and various programs. Children and their parents enjoyed the free books, and prizes available on the Spin Wheel along with “getting to know us” information.ï»ż
