Dear Orange County Community,
February reminds us that learning is most powerful when it is lived, shared, and connected to purpose. A time when preparation meets possibility and students step forward to success. Across our academies and pathways, young people are testing their skills in competitions, refining their ideas, serving their communities, and preparing for milestones that mark both achievement and growth.
This month, students are embracing challenge, whether through regional and state competitions, hands-on learning experiences, or real-world problem solving alongside industry professionals. At the same time, we are celebrating access and opportunity: reviewing scholarship applications that recognize perseverance and excellence, ensuring students can experience milestones like prom with dignity, and creating pathways that honor effort as much as outcome.
None of this work happens in isolation. It is powered by educators who believe deeply in their students, partners and mentors who share their time and expertise, and a community that continues to invest in what’s possible when education is connected to the real world.
Together, we are not just preparing students for what’s next, we are affirming their potential, their voice, and their place in the future.
As you explore this month’s stories, events, and opportunities, we invite you to celebrate the dedication of our students and consider how you can continue walking alongside them as a supporter, partner, mentor, or advocate.
Thank you for being part of this journey and for helping us turn learning into lasting impact.
Sincerely,
Felix Lugo, MSM, CNP

Coach Rob Inspires Biomedical Science Students at Century High School
In January, Coach Rob expanded his reach to our Century High School community, bringing his signature energy and student‑centered approach to four BioMed classes. His interactive presentation had every student on their feet, literally and figuratively by challenging them with a creative scenario where each person had to add their own twist to the story. What started as a simple prompt quickly turned into a room of laughter, collaboration, and confident voices. Coach Rob’s ability to spark engagement and build connections continues to make a meaningful impact on our students, reminding them that their ideas matter and that learning can be both powerful and fun.

Financial Literacy in Action: Thank You, Gabriel Orozco!
Our Engineering students at Valley High School gained powerful real‑world knowledge this month thanks to Gabriel Orozco, Business Development and Financial Education Manager with the Santa Ana Federal Credit Union. Gabriel led four engaging financial literacy workshops that broke down essential topics every young adult needs to understand.
Students learned the key differences between credit unions and banks, explored how credit works, and discussed how financial decisions today can shape major milestones like purchasing a car, renting an apartment, or securing future loans. His clear explanations and relatable examples helped students see the importance of building healthy financial habits early. We are deeply grateful for Gabriel’s continued partnership and his commitment to empowering our students with the tools they need for strong financial futures. His time, expertise, and genuine care make a lasting impact on our community.

Bureau of Auto Repair (BAR) Presentation to Auto Academy Community garage students
On January 28, 2026, Community Garage students participated in an industry-focused presentation led by Mauricio Cabeza from the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR). Mauricio shared an overview of who BAR is, the role it plays in the automotive industry, and why understanding its services, codes, laws, and regulations is essential for anyone pursuing a career in automotive.
Students learned about BAR’s “Write It Right” requirements for service agreements and how these standards apply directly to real-world work, including internships, employment, and customer service. Mauricio also shared his personal career journey through the automotive pathway and his progression to his current role as Automotive Program Supervisor II within the Field Operations & Enforcement Division.
The presentation gave students a deeper understanding of the importance of BAR and how industry knowledge strengthens their professionalism and job readiness. It also added an important layer of preparation as students get ready for the upcoming Community Garage, ensuring they are applying industry standards while serving the community

Global Business Academy: Business Partner Mentors in Action
Throughout January, Global Business Academy (GBA) business partner classroom mentors continued their monthly commitment to supporting students across grade levels. Partners provided in-class support tailored to student needs, helping freshmen strengthen their water project pitches, guiding sophomores as they developed business teams, and supporting seniors through wellness-focused learning, including a digital detox session led by guest speakers from Just Gather.
Beyond classroom support, GBA business partners remain actively engaged through monthly advisory meetings with teachers and the High School Inc. team. These conversations help align industry insight with classroom learning, ensuring students are exposed to current business practices and are well prepared for in class projects through project based learning and their post-graduate journey.
GBA students are surrounded by a dedicated network of professionals who are invested in their growth, success, and future readiness.
THANK YOU to our GBA Business Partners for your continued support and dedication—your time and commitment are truly valued and appreciated.

Community Garage
Where Students Serve & Skills Ignite!
On Saturday, January 31, 2026 our Automotive Academy hosted another Community Garage at Valley High School.
Our Automotive Community Garage is more than a place to get a tune-up, it’s a hub where High School Inc. High School Inc.
Ambassador Program
| | |
This month, the Ambassadors of High School Inc. took their class photo and began planning their class leadership event that they will organize and lead later this year.
| | |
Valley High School Ambassadors kicked off the new year with their “Speak Like a Leader” session, focused on building strong communication skills using the 3 C’s: Clarity, Confidence, and Connection. Students were engaged and actively practiced their speaking skills through group activities and peer feedback, strengthening their ability to communicate as leaders and representatives of their school and pathways.
Ambassadors also heard from Pat Daniel Carreras, who visited to share the story of Anthony Barajas and the significance of the Anthony Barajas Acts of Kindness Scholarship. Pat spoke about Anthony’s life, his legacy, and the importance of leading with kindness. As she presented, she modeled the 3 C’s in action, demonstrating clarity, confidence, and connection, reinforcing the skills ambassadors had been practicing throughout the session. Ambassadors were asked to help spread the word about the scholarship opportunity and spreading acts of kindness.

From the
MACC Farm
We recently hosted an incredible Servathon at the MACC farm, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the amazing group of students and community members who joined us for a day of service and learning. They jumped right into our spring cleaning efforts, bringing great energy and teamwork with them. A big thank-you to High School Inc. for generously providing healthy and nutritious snacks that kept our participants fueled throughout the day.
During the Servathon, students made a meaningful impact across the farm. They helped trellis our dragon fruit, mulched and added fertilizer to our trees to support healthy growth, and ensured our crops are on track to produce fresh fruit for our community. They also took on the important task of cleaning the onion beds by removing weeds, giving our plants the space they need to thrive. Their hard work will be felt for months to come.
Days like this remind us how powerful community collaboration can be. When students, partners, and volunteers come together, we’re able to grow more than just food we grow connection, stewardship, and shared responsibility for our land. We’re so thankful to everyone who participated and supported this Servathon, and we look forward to welcoming more volunteers out to the farm as the season continues.
Our student-led MACC club was also hard at work recruiting new members, spending their lunchtime during club rush connecting with students and sharing the incredible work we do and the many benefits of joining the MACC club. Our officers made the experience extra special by surprising new sign-ups with fresh flowers grown right here at the MACC. Many students were impressed to learn that such beautiful flowers were grown on campus. We’re excited to welcome new faces and can’t wait to inspire a new cohort of students to give back to their community.

Your support provides more than admission, it offers inclusion, dignity, and a chance for students to fully celebrate this important moment. Thank you for helping make prom accessible for all.
