A Note

from Jodi

The holiday season is in full swing, and Harford County is buzzing in December as one of our most event-filled months of the year with communities that are literally shining.

This month, we’ve also launched several marketing pushes —radio, digital banners, video content, and targeted display ads—all designed to highlight Harford County as a must-visit holiday destination. These efforts support you, our partners, by driving visitors to explore, attend events, and engage with local businesses.

Thank you for all you do. You make the holidays shine bright in Harford County!

See you soon!

Pro-tip of the Month

Videos grab attention!

Social media posts with videos get significantly more views than static images— so consider a quick virtual tour or behind-the-scenes peek. Short, authentic clips keep followers engaged and more likely to share your content. Make the most of your video session by filming several clips at once and use them later to keep your social media active and engaging.

Venue Spotlight

Hello Harford Welcome Center

We’re excited to announce the opening of our new Hello Harford Welcome Center at 220 S. Main Street in Bel Air! This space is designed to support and spotlight You; our tourism community by giving visitors a central location to discover all that Harford County has to offer.

Tourism stakeholders are invited to bring in their brochures (8.3” x 3.9” rack card size only) for display. This is another opportunity to increase visibility and reach new audiences. And while you’re here, be sure to pick up a complimentary Hello Harford holiday bag, available while supplies last.

We look forward to welcoming you and helping your business shine even brighter this season.

Reminder: Sign Up for Greater Exposure

Did you know? We provide local hotels with a monthly calendar of events to use as a concierge tool; we also give hotels these “Happy you're here” business cards for their guests. The cards have a QR code that brings visitors to the Hello Harford website promoting all the attractions, restaurants, and events in the county. If you’re not listed on our website or calendar, sign up today to help new customers find you!

Discover this month’s Calendar of Events. An easy way to help visitors experience more of Harford County. While our hotel partners share it with their guests, we encourage you to do the same. When travelers know what’s happening, they explore more, stay longer, spend more and leave with unforgettable memories.

Future-Focus

As we approach the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in July 2026, the America 250 Harford Committee invites you to join in celebrating our county, country, and community. Submit your event through the America 250 Calendar on Hello Harford by completing the Event Application and selecting Event – 250 America. We are not just looking for events—if you have themed exhibits, special menu items or beverages, sweet treats, or even a themed overnight stay, please share them so we can help amplify your efforts.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions/feedback to our America 250 Tourism Subcommittee at historic@harfordcountymd.gov

Fun Fact

Did you know? According to Audubon magazine, Conowingo Dam in Harford County is one of the top eagle-photography spots in the Lower 48 States, making it not just a local gem, but a national wildlife-watching destination. This is the perfect time of year to bundle up and get out there to see it for yourself. (audubon.org)
