Dear Woodbury,
Just like that May is behind us. I want to thank everyone that came out for our Memorial Day Ceremony this past Sunday. We got unlucky with the weather and had to cancel the parade and move the ceremony, but we were still able to honor those who gave their lives for their country.
Summer is just around the corner now, which means warmer weather, the end of the school year, and the start of summer camp! We have limited space available for 3rd and 4th graders as well as Teen Travel Camp. We also have a variety of sports camps taking place throughout the summer, so it’s not too late to sign up your kids for camp where they will make new friends and have a lot of fun.
In other programming news, we have some new martial arts programs starting this month. We have youth options for Karate, as well as youth and adult options for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We also have our annual Country Night at Hollow Park on June 19th which always promises a great experience. This month will also see the return of Woodbury’s Great Gnome Hunt! In partnership with the Library and the Senior Center, we will be hiding these gnomes around town, and anyone that finds them all will be entered into a raffle for a prize at the end of the month. Please visit any of our offices to pick up your Gnome Discovery Guide and get started.
While the weather is nice at this time of year, I hope everyone takes advantage and gets outside to explore all that Woodbury has to offer. Whether you want to go for a walk, take a hike, ride your bike or play a game, our parks and trails are open and ready for you. Shady areas like Orenaug Park and Trolley Bed Preserve are especially nice on those hot and sunny days.
Sincerely,
Graham Musson
