As we each walk our unexpected path, the changing nature of fall reminds us to stay present and let life unfold.

So often we seek to modify our path and challenge the flow of energy and life. We try to fight what's coming because we believe to know what's best. We label outcomes, and apply expectations to events or people that aren't actually accurate or truthful.

These thoughts are a byproduct of the moving mind. One that thinks it knows everything and decides for everyone without any trust in the greater universe. This is a mind without faith or flexibility. This mind wants to control the path, without being open to the unknown possibilities further down the path, just out of view.

Our yoga practice teaches us about true flexibility and what it means to be open to new possibilities. By trying new things we challenge ourselves to see life from the mat in a new way. Every movement and breath holds a new perspective. As this flexibility becomes a new pattern, we can carry it over into other aspects of our life.

Through letting go, we allow our path to unfold as it will, trusting we will handle the seasons of our lives. This practice is why we come to our mat, so when we reach a point in the path where we cannot see, we will be ready.

Wishing you the faith and trust to let go, and allow your life to move forward as it was meant to be.

Firefly Fall Community Night 10/19!

We are please to invite you to a community gathering of students and teachers, where we can connect and enjoy time together off the mat.

Date:  Sunday, October 19, 2014

Time:  4:00 - 7:00 PM

Cost:  Free to students and teachers

Light, healthy food and refreshments will be served.  Feel free to bring a dish to share!!  Featured items in store will be available 50% off during this evening for purchase as we make room for holiday items.  Learn about upcoming Firefly workshops and events from teachers, while making new friends in our community.

Weekly Schedule Updates for October
  • Monthly Guided Meditation is now on Thursday evenings every Month!  Join Olivia Van Wagner Thursdays 7:30 PM (10/9, 11/13 and 12/11) for a guided meditation for all levels, including beginners.  Students can use their passes, or drop-in at $10/class. Home study and journal assignments will be given in between each monthly meeting to develop a home meditation practice. What are you waiting for!
  • Wed. 10/1 Chair Yoga is cancelled, and regular class will resume next week. 
  • Friday Mommy & Me Community Class is back! Fridays 11:30 AM, $5 donation.
  • Saturday 12-Step Community Yoga is back at 8:00 AM on Saturdays. This class is a Hatha, all level class for anyone working a 12-step program, or just interested in incorporating the 12-step process into their yoga practice. Download Class  Flyer here for more info.

Crystal Bowl Sound & Light Healing Meditation

Description:  Crystal bowl sound is a form of vibrational medicine that validates everything in the universe is in a state of vibration. When we include forms of visual light to the mix, the body, mind and spirit begin to naturally realign. Feelings of being rested and peace occur. Join us for this wonderful gathering as we merge into the light, sound and ascension of higher vibrations and consciousness.  Please bring a mat to lie on, water and an eye pillow if desired. Wear loose comfortable clothing. Bring a notebook or journal to record any thoughts or feelings that may arise.  Cost:  $20

Intro to Yoga for RUNNERS
A combination yoga class with a group run!

Date/Time:  Saturday, October 18th (2:00 - 4:00 PM)

Instructor:  Johanna Jaworski, 200RYT

Doing yoga before running is one of the best ways to stay injury free, get stronger and make your run more enjoyable. Join Johanna for a fun, efficient, rigorous sequence of poses that prepare your body for a run by loosening key muscles that are often tight and strengthening those that encourage balance.  The class will be followed by a group run around
Colonial Lake.

About Johanna. You may know Johanna from her Friday Community "Mommy & Me" class...but as an active mom, Johanna also finds time for herself combining running and yoga for true stress relief from a hectic home life!  Johanna is a 200-hour Certified instructor, and also a trained womenRYSE running instructor and loves combining these 2 passions for her students.

Cost:  $20 per student (drop-in) **OR** Monthly Class Pass accepted!

DETOX Flow with Christa

Description: Back by popular demand!! Continue into  fall feeling cleansed and rejuvenated! Join Christa for this special 2-hour Vinyasa class focused on detoxing the body, mind and spirit through thoughtful asana. Build strength and release tension, while always honoring your own level of practice with compassion.  This class is for those of you who want to try, or already love, the feeling of a warm, core focused Vinyasa flow, which leaves you cleansed and ready to move into a new season.

Description:  We are honored to have expert level instruction by Leslie Hadley, leading our prenatal yoga classes for the Firefly community.  Pregnancy is a special and sacred time,  and a yoga practice needs to be modified accordingly to honor the needs of each expectant mother.  We are pleased to offer a safe practice for students, focused on relieving stress and anxiety during pregnancy, while also strengthening your body in preparation for childbirth.  Join other mommas-to-be in this warm and welcoming community environment for sharing of personal experience and loving support during this special time in your journey.
