Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls – Class of 2021
Class Ring Blessing & Distribution
A Marquee Event on the Beautiful Little Flower Grounds
Tuesday, October 13, 2020 - 5:00pm
We arrived at this plan after research into Little Flower history and consultation with our senior student leaders.
-
Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls’ Campus - there will be a tent set-up outside on the school grounds.
- Seniors are invited to bring two guests to accompany them to receive their rings and receive a personal blessing from Father McCaffrey.
- A professional photographer will be present to photograph each presentation.
- Seniors and their guests will be assigned a time for their arrival. It will be approximately 10 students and their guests every 15 minutes, in alphabetical order, beginning at 5 PM.
- After receiving their class rings the seniors and their guests will have an opportunity to take photos in front of the St. Therese statue on the school grounds.
- This is a formal occasion therefore seniors must be in full uniform with long sleeves.
- In the event of inclement weather the distribution of rings will be moved indoors but with the same time schedule.
- The B day seniors will celebrate Mass together in school on Monday, October 12, at 8th period, and the A day seniors will celebrate Mass together in school on Tuesday, October 13, at 8th period.
We invite parents of seniors to a special Senior Parent Zoom meeting at
Wednesday, October 7 - 6:00 pm

A Message from the Office of the Principal and Academic Affairs:
|
|
Help us deliver an excellent academic experience when your daughter is at home.
- Help us deliver an excellent academic experience when your daughter is at home.
- Maintain a schedule for your daughter that matches the in-person school days. Encourage getting up at the same time everyday and having a breakfast routine.
- Make sure your daughter is wearing her crew neck Little Flower t-shirt. No hoodies or caps are allowed.
- Our teachers are trying very hard to keep the at home students engaged. Your daughter must take responsibility for her learning by participating and being attention in every class.
We acknowledge that this is a very challenging way to learn and applaud everyone's efforts so far.
A reminder that if your daughter is having an issue in a particular class, they should reach out to their teacher for direct assistance. For further assistance beyond that, please reach out to Kathleen Radebaugh in the Academic Affairs Office.
If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact the Academic Affairs Office:

The SAT and ACT
The deadline to register for the November SAT is October 7, 2020. While many SAT testing sites are canceling their administrations, the seniors are still encouraged to take the SAT if they are able to reserve a seat. Little Flower currently still has seats available for the November SAT but we are filling up fast. Students can register at College Board Website.
In addition, students may choose to take the ACT test instead of the SAT. The deadline to registration for October test dates for the ACT is October 5, 2020. You can register online for the ACT with this ACT link.
More and more colleges are going test optional each day, please know that not taking the SAT or the ACT will not eliminate students from applying to colleges and universities this year. Please check the admissions websites at your daughter’s target schools for more information.
The College Process
For families interested in more information about the College Selection Process, check out the Philadelphia Futures Website and their Step Up to College Guide. This link leads you to last year’s version of the guide, as the new one is not yet published. This is a tremendous resource and worth a look. Just realize deadlines in this guide will be outdated.
College Financial Aid
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2021-2022 school year opened today, October 1, 2020. Any senior wishing to be considered for college aid will be required to complete this application.

A Message from the Student Life Office:
|
|
Congratulations to our Student Officers!
|
|
On Wednesday, September 30 and Thursday, October 1, Little Flower students celebrated two Masses in honor of St. Thérèse's Feast Day. In addition to celebrating our patroness, these Masses also included our Installation Ceremony for our Student Leadership, including SGA, Ambassadors, and more. Masses were livestreamed each day so that the entire school community, both those in school and those who opted for virtual learning, could celebrate safely with their classmates.
Congratulations to our new Student Leaders!
