We are excited to invite you to the upcoming Olmstead Engagement Forum! This event is a vital opportunity to acknowledge our progress, recognize the challenges ahead, and engage in shaping the future of Olmstead Planning and Implementation for Rhode Island.

Please note that from 2:30-4:00 PM, we will hold the first Olmstead Advisory Group (OAG) meeting as part of the forum. We encourage non-OAG members to stay for this important discussion with an opportunity to provide public comment!

Why Does Olmstead Matter?

Olmstead is a Supreme Court decision that says people with disabilities should not have to live in institutions if they can live in their community. It requires states to offer community-based services as much as possible, helping people with disabilities live, work, and be part of their communities.
