As school starts back up, I've found myself thinking about something pretty powerful—this year, some of our Hushabye babies are heading off to kindergarten. It's hard to believe those tiny babies are now walking into their classrooms with backpacks hanging to their knees, and it's a reminder of why Hushabye exists. Emily is a stellar nurse, who has become a leader on the Night team. She is always available to support with a helping hand and smile.

Emily was actually an AmeriCorps member in our very first cohort — she returned to us in 2024 as a registered nurse, and we are so grateful she did, as she continues to serve our babies and families with compassion, dedication and kindness.

She recently helped spearhead the very first skills boot camp for our newest group of AmeriCorps members, ensuring they have a head start on the skills needed to provide the best care for our babies.
